More than 1.800 employees are striving to work together to improve lives for patients and animals in our region.THE OPPORTUNITYThe Medical Science Liaison (MSL) acts as a liaison between Health Care Professionals (HCPs), Clinical and Scientific External Experts (EEs) and Boehringer Ingelheim in order to deliver and gather important scientific information.As an MSL, you will be the face of Boehringer Ingelheim to high-level scientific professionals. With them, you will engage in scientific discussions, review results of high-quality trials and, exchange viewpoints.In this role, you will collaborate with multiple internal teams and work closely with Medical Managers and the Medical Team Lead in the CRM (Cardio-Renal-Metabolic) Therapeutic Area.You will report to the local Medical Team Lead. This position is mainly field based (70-80% of the time) and will require some travelling.This role might just be for you if you enjoy communicating scientific data and building and maintaining trustworthy scientific and medical relations with Health Care Professionals.   • Act as a Health Care Professional’s (HCPs) scientific resource and go-to-person for scientific queries and in-depth scientific information related to medications and indications within your area of expertise.
  • Generate and communicate scientific data; have a deep understanding of scientific and medical thinking, limitations, and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a network of HCPs and authorities.
  • Document insights from interactions with stakeholders and co-create actionable strategies based on them.
  • Identify need for registries, epidemiological studies, non-trial activities and other medical/scientific projects.
  • Collaborate with Medical Teams, Field force, Key Account Managers, Marketing and Market access.
  • Attend international/ national/ regional medical congresses to staff scientific booths and discuss science.
  • Organize, lead or attend regional/local advisory boards, roundtable meetings, expert and scientific meetings.
  • Discuss IIS (Investigator Initiated Studies) proposals together with investigators and Medical Managers and assist in submitting proposals.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING TO THE TEAM

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Medicine, Life sciences or similar field.
  • Over 2 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry, ideally in a MSL role.
  • Understanding of the Cardio Renal Metabolic Therapeutic Area.
  • Knowledge of the Dutch health care system and the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Excellent command of the Dutch & English languages.
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills to share scientific content and context to multiple audiences – both orally and in writing.
  • Quality mindset, striving for excellence with a pro-active result driven behavior.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders through various platforms.
  • Outgoing personality, team-player with good peer relationship skills.
  • You have a valid driving license and are passionate about a field-based role.
