Role Purpose:
Management of medical information services and scientific communication/exchange activities within Medical Affairs in Transcatheter Heart Valves business unit. Main focus on areas of medical information enquiries handling of complex unsolicited information requests, scientific content development for internal and external stakeholders, management and full responsibility for reviews of marketing materials, scientific evidence reviews and its dissemination.
Major Job Functions :
Medical information services

Manage all external and internal medical information requests – provide accurate, relevant, timely information to all stakeholders in accordance with latest available evidence and professional guidelines

Represent and bring Medical Information perspective in cross functional activities and project teams

Create content and provide marketing teams with up to date information on products and disease areas of interest to contribute to development of targeted marketing campaigns and product launches.

Manage and take full responsibility for medical affairs marketing materials reviews – provide timely, accurate feedback and approval of promotional/educational materials in accordance with the relevant and up to date codes of medical practice and company guidelines.

Develop and maintain Medical Information e-tools (Medical request portal) and global library resources (THV SER).
Scientific communication and content management

Manage literature monitoring and updates: perform periodic searches to monitor and evaluate emerging literature and maintain evidence update communication tools in the field of Valvular heart disease and THV therapy.

Update and maintain publication library to provide overview on/ interpretation of existing scientific literature on demand

Perform specific searches and evaluations/analysis to create specific content on demand

Perform searches on TAVI related topics and build customer slide decks on dedicated topics of interest

Provide critical reviews of scientific manuscripts in its development phase on demand

Manage scientific communication to internal and external stakeholders, scientific exchange meeting (e.g. Advisory boards, Expert forums)

Contribute to a continuous benefit/risk assessment of THV-therapy for Edwards Lifesciences products and its competitors
Medical Information e-tools

Manage online portal for medical requests, collect answers internally and respond to customers in accordance with all internal policies and compliance rules

Develop and maintain current online portals and focus on enhancing that with newest technologies
-
Continuously improve structure and content of the global THV scientific evidence repository
Education support
- Prepare training materials/provide internal trainings as needed

Required Education/Skills/Experience:
-
Advanced degree in life sciences or healthcare-related fields, ideally Doctor of Medicine, possibly also Master’s or PhD degree in pharmacy or biosciences
-
4+ years of experience in Medical Devices and/or Pharma industries, preferably in Medical Affairs
-
Good understanding of evidence-based medicine, clinical research landscape and ability to analyze and interpret complex scientific data
-
Experience in cardiology or related therapeutic areas is a plus
-
Fluent in English, each additional language is an advantage

Experience with Vault and salesforce.com systems is a benefit
