This role is based in Istanbul, Türkiye, and directly reports to BAMEAC Senior Director, Clinical, Medical, Regulatory, & Pharmacovigilance.
 

The position
You will be responsible for the execution of the medical affairs and science strategy across all therapy areas in BAMEAC within the main 5 focus areas: insights for strategy, evidence generation, scientific dialogue, clinical care pathways and organisational readiness and drive overall medical activities and initiatives. This position requires leading a team of senior medical managers who are functional therapy heads to support the overall strategic objectives of Medical Affairs in the BAMEAC affiliates and establish a strong scientific foundation, ensure continuous success in the existing therapy areas whilst building a strong entry and presence into Cardiovascular and Emerging Therapy Areas (CETA).
 

This role will be responsible for: 

-Setting direction and managing overall medical affairs strategy in line with the business strategy, regional and global medical priorities.
-Design and lead the execution of  key medical affairs initiatives in each of the therapy areas
-Lead, develop and support the growth of the Business Area (BA) Senior Medical Managers and ensure the BA medical governance and alignment. 
-Provide medical input and guidance to BAMEAC commercial plans and projects through optimal utilisation of medical resources and scientific data.
-Drive medical insights and communication across functional teams: clinical, regulatory, commercial, market access and public affairs.
-Support BAMEAC clinical medical activities, RWE, and data generation initiatives through design, scientific advice, and roll-out activities.
 
Qualifications

-You have a strong medical background with qualification as MD, PharmD, PhD and preferably with a post-graduate medical qualification in Diabetology, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Endocrinology or Pharmacology.
-You have at least 8-10 years of relevant experience within medical affairs and science preferably gained in multinational pharmaceutical industry.
-Leadership and people management experience is required as a core competency. 
-You must also have excellent communication skills in English.
-Strong analytical mindset to aim for the best qualitative solutions in a changing business environment with scientific and business integration mindset.

Business Area Middle East, Africa and Commonwealth of Independent States (BAMEAC) is responsible for Novo Nordisk’s operations in 73 diverse countries with a combined population of about 1.3 billion people. From our Business Area office in Istanbul, we guide and provide functional support to affiliate General Managers and more than 900 colleagues.
