The Directorate works in accordance with the OECD Communications Strategy and pursuant to the annual communication plans for which it is responsible, steering organisational efforts on strategic priorities and supporting policy directorates in their communications to specialised audiences. COM holds as a core value an agile, collaborative and supportive culture, one that is marked by positive interaction and accountability among professionals.Communications Impact, Standards & Capacity Building DivisionThe mission of the division is to build and facilitate a collaborative community of excellence among communication staff at the OECD (One communication function) by promoting effective and consistent communications practices, developing a learning and improvement culture, and mitigating all forms of reputational risk.Specifically, the division will work with communicators across the Organisation (ONE communications function) to:

  • Provide strategic analysis: inform communications strategies on key corporate priorities to the cross-directorate Communications Steering on a quarterly basis with key insights from the external environment and analysis of the performance and lessons learned (objective setting, audience understanding, communications planning and only then on measurement and evaluation)
  • Evaluate performance: regularly monitor and measure key performance indicators and provide lessons learned on the effectiveness of communication strategies.
  • Monitor the reputation of the OECD and build capability to react to third-party engagement and mis-disinformation
  • Build capacity: design and deliver communication training programs, develop and promote best practices
  • Establish and ensure compliance with standards in all communications areas, develop guidelines to ensure consistency and quality of communication and engagement with external partners

COM is looking for a Media and Social Media Impact Co-Ordinator to work in the Communication Impact, Standards & Capacity Building Division (CISC). The selected candidate will support analysis on the impact of the organisation in the media. S/he will work under the supervision of the Impact Analyst.Job DescriptionMain Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse media and social media conversations related to the OECD
  • Create and manage alerts and reports focusing on specific themes or topics related to OECD activities and priorities.
  • Compile comprehensive media reviews summarising coverage on specific issues or geographies.
  • Notify internal COM stakeholders promptly regarding sensitive information or emerging issues identified in media or social media coverage.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of social media and media mentions to generate reports evaluating the effectiveness of communication campaigns and message uptake, extracting key insights.
  • Regularly update comprehensive profiles of key print, online media, and broadcast outlets across various countries.

QualificationsIdeal Candidate ProfileAcademic Background

  • An advanced University degree or equivalent in communications, journalism, marketing, business administration or other related discipline.

Professional Background

  • Experience in media monitoring, ideally within a global context.
  • Experience in an international environment and ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team, and reliable with respect to supporting and assisting others to perform whatever tasks are necessary to help the team achieve its goals.

  • Social listening tools (Brandwatch, Talkwalker, etc.)

  • Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) and knowledge of the other, with a commitment to reach a good working level.
  • Knowledge of other languages would be an asset (in particular Spanish)

Additional InformationContract Duration

  • Six months, renewable
  • Ideal start date: September 2024.

Salary Information

  • Salary and conditions will depend on the experience of the selected candidate as well as on her/his status (temporary staff or official).
  • For temporary staff, salary starts at 2,670 EUR.
