Position: Mechanical Training Instructor

Location: TQ – RSME (Wainscott, near Rochester in Kent)

What You’ll Do:

As a Mechanical Training Instructor, you’ll play a vital role in educating and mentoring Plant Fitter Soldiers in the Royal Engineers. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Instructing on the operation and maintenance of in-service ‘C’ Vehicles and Engineer Construction Plant equipment.

  • Ensuring the safety and welfare of students , including the proper use of tools and equipment.

  • Maintaining and assessing course work , and providing constructive feedback.

  • Preparing and maintaining course materials and equipment .

  • Supervising and instructing students in various mechanical topics, from basic mechanical principles to advanced systems.

What We Need From You:

  • A suitable mechanical engineering qualification (e.g., Plant Vehicles/Equipments).

  • Defence Instructional Techniques certificate (or willingness to obtain).

  • ASLS Training for Instructors of Phase 2 & 3 personnel (or willingness to obtain).

  • A valid Category C G & H driving licence.

  • City & Guilds 620 Pt III or equivalent military training.

  • A Professional Teaching Certificate.

  • NVQ Assessor/Verifier awards (or willingness to obtain).
