Join the University of Salford as a Plumber Mechanical Tradesperson and be part of Team Salford, and one of the UK’s fastest growing universities!We have a fantastic opportunity for a Plumber Mechanical Tradesperson to join us!In this role you will work across the university both unassisted, and as part of a team of trades and handypersons colleagues and external contractors, depending on the works being undertaken.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Plumber Mechanical Tradesperson is responsible for maintenance and repairs on all heating, ventilation, gas and water services across the estate.To succeed in this opportunity:
- You will work on your own initiative in the main but also as part of the wider Estates team.
- You will demonstrate your exceptional communication and customer care skills, as you will be completing tasks and acting on queries and situations that arise daily, in a professional and friendly manner, with discretion, tact, diplomacy and attention to detail.
- You may, at times, work a flexible working week outside of the agreed shift pattern. This could include occasional early starts, late finishes or weekend work as you will be part of the out of hours call-out rota within the trades team.
Qualifications and experience:
- Completed a full indentured apprenticeship registered with the CITB or hold a City and Guilds of London Institute Certificate NVQ Level 3 in plumbing and heating (minimum)
- Other qualification in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC)
Due to frequency that the candidate will travel across the campus and respond to emergency situations, a full UK driving licence is required.Collectively we want to improve and expand on the University’s approach to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).
