At Siemens Gamesa, we are constantly seeking talented individuals to join our team and support our focus on energy transformation.Find out how you can make a difference at Siemens Gamesa: .For our Hub Department within the Technology organization, we are looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer.The Hub is one of the main, large modules of a wind turbine; its function is to be the interface part between the blades and the mechanical drivetrain. The Hub assembly contains a varied group of components, ranging from large bearings and casted components to various turbine critical safety systems and small, hydraulic components.So, if you have a desire to sharpen your skills within component development, using cutting edge analysis and development tools – or if you come with excellent analysis and component development knowledge from previous jobs – then here is your chance to join a dynamic and multicultural R&D environment.How to contribute to our vision:As a Mechanical Design Engineer in Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, you will be responsible for driving component development through the complete engineering value chain in a project team operated under the agile mindset.Your typical workstream in a turbine development project could be:Concept development of subsystems and components in various materials like steel, aluminum, cast iron, composites and plastics –
verifying your ideas by simple structural calculations and design reviews with main stakeholders –
spar with Supply Chain during supplier discussions, manufacturing, and assembly –
ensure an efficient installation when prototype is erected –
enable and contribute to Turbine test and verification –
and finally, ensuring the product is ready for handover to serial production.Our design tool is NX Siemens PLM, and Teamcenter handles our PDM.You will mainly be using GPS-, D-FMEA-, EHS Design Risk Assessment, and Tolerance Stack Analysis tools during your design work – plus off course your creativity, good ideas, and knowledge.What you need to make a difference:Besides a passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change, we are also looking for:A future colleague having a bachelor or master´s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, with a minimum of 5 years of experience within product development and mechanical design engineering. Alternatively, you are a highly skilled recent graduate with an educational track record to show for it.Besides being an experienced user in 3D/2D (preferably NX Siemens PLM), you should have good knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, casting/forging, and welding). If you have a craftsman education as e.g. blacksmith, industrial technician, toolmaker/machinist, or auto-mechanic this is also considered an advantage.As a person you are a self-starter, structured, and a proactive problem solver that thrives with teamwork but also has the self-discipline to work and perform at an individual level.
