Salary: £30,000 – £46,525 (in line with PayScale)Overview:Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and passionate Maths Teacher for a full-time position at an Ofsted Good, diverse secondary school in Audenshaw, known for its excellent reputation. This role begins in September and spans the full academic year, with the potential for the position to become permanent based on performance.Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Planning and Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive maths lessons that adhere to the national curriculum. Tailor lessons to meet the diverse learning needs of students and ensure all topics are covered effectively.
  • Student Assessment: Regularly assess students’ progress through assignments, tests, and exams. Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their mathematical skills and understanding.
  • Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for mathematics. Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain discipline and enhance learning.
  • Resource Development: Utilize a variety of teaching materials and resources to make maths lessons interesting and accessible. Incorporate technology and multimedia tools to support learning and engagement.
  • Individual Support: Identify and support students with different learning needs. Offer additional help to students who are struggling and extend learning opportunities for those who excel.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest developments in maths education and integrate innovative teaching methods into the classroom. Participate in professional development opportunities provided by the school and Teaching Personnel.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support students’ academic and personal development. Contribute to departmental meetings and school initiatives aimed at improving educational outcomes.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Organize and lead maths-related extracurricular activities, clubs, or events, providing students with additional opportunities to explore and enjoy the subject.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in mathematics or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching maths at the secondary school level, with a strong grasp of curriculum requirements and assessment methods.
  • Excellent organizational and classroom management skills, capable of creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a proactive approach to addressing challenges and supporting student needs.
  • Passion for maths education and the ability to inspire students to explore and excel in the subject.
  • Ability to make complex mathematical concepts accessible and engaging, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the subject.
