Duration: Until the End of the Academic Year (with potential for a permanent role based on performance)Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a passionate and dedicated Maths Graduate to join an Ofsted-rated “Good” secondary school in Cheadle, Stockport, as a Teaching Assistant. This full-time position begins in October and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of securing a permanent role based on performance.Role Overview: As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of students across different year groups. This role is ideal for a recent graduate who is considering a future career in teaching or education and wishes to gain hands-on experience in a supportive and dynamic environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Maths department to assist in delivering high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students.
- Provide targeted support to students in both one-on-one and small group settings, helping them to grasp complex mathematical concepts.
- Assist in preparing lesson materials, resources, and activities that cater to varying levels of ability within the classroom.
- Support classroom management by helping to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
- Identify students who may require additional help and collaborate with teachers to implement tailored interventions.
- Help to track and monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers to inform future planning and support strategies.
- Offer support during assessments and exams, ensuring that students are well-prepared and confident in their abilities.
- Engage with students outside of lessons, offering additional support and encouragement during revision sessions and homework clubs.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other school activities to contribute to the broader school community.
Requirements:
- A degree in Mathematics or a related field, with strong academic credentials.
- A genuine interest in working with young people and supporting their educational journey.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach to helping students overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
- An understanding of the secondary school curriculum and the ability to apply mathematical knowledge in a teaching context.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Previous experience working with young people, especially in an educational or mentoring capacity, is highly desirable.
