Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant Position AvailableTeaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Wilmslow. This is a full-time position starting ASAP and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming permanent based on performance. The role offers a competitive weekly pay range of £419.25 – £500.Role Overview:As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the maths department and enhancing the educational experience of students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Individual Support: Providing one-on-one assistance to students who need extra help in understanding mathematical concepts, ensuring they can keep up with the curriculum.
  • Small Group Sessions: Leading small group tutoring sessions to reinforce class material, prepare students for exams, and develop their problem-solving skills.
  • Classroom Assistance: Working alongside maths teachers to support students during lessons, helping to manage the classroom environment and facilitate effective learning.
  • Resource Preparation: Assisting teachers in preparing lesson materials, including worksheets, presentations, and interactive activities.
  • Progress Monitoring: Keeping detailed records of student progress, identifying areas where additional support is needed, and reporting to teachers and senior staff.
  • Exam Preparation: Helping to organize and conduct revision sessions, practice exams, and study groups to ensure students are well-prepared for assessments.
  • Student Engagement: Encouraging a positive attitude towards maths, fostering a supportive and motivating learning environment, and addressing any barriers to learning.
  • Parental Communication: Assisting in communicating with parents about their child’s progress and any additional support they may need.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Maths or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and the ability to explain them clearly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed in maths.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.
  • Previous experience in a teaching or tutoring role is advantageous but not essential.
