- About the Role:
- Deliver engaging and challenging Mathematics lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5 (A-Level), covering a broad and rigorous curriculum.
- Develop and implement innovative lesson plans that cater to the diverse learning needs of high-achieving boys, promoting deep conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and mathematical reasoning.
- Assess student progress through regular formative and summative assessments, providing insightful and constructive feedback to support their advanced learning in mathematics.
- Contribute to the vibrant extracurricular life of the school, potentially participating in mathematics clubs, competitions, or other enrichment activities designed to extend students’ mathematical understanding and enjoyment.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the Mathematics department to share best practices and contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum.
- Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong academic background in Mathematics, holding a relevant degree.
- Experience teaching Mathematics at the secondary level, with a proven track record of success in engaging and challenging able students, ideally including experience with A-Level Mathematics.
- A deep and current understanding of the Mathematics curriculum and effective pedagogical approaches for teaching mathematics to high-achieving boys.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students to excel in mathematics.
- A genuine passion for mathematics and a commitment to fostering a lifelong appreciation for the subject.
