As a Material & Corrosion Specialist, you will report hierarchically to the Discipline Engineering Manager as part of the Industrial Direction. You will carry out your work in collaboration with other Group Engineering & Construction (GEC) disciplines (Estimating & Project Control, Advanced Automation, I&A Process Analytical & Technologies, IA&E Electricity, Mechanical, Design office) and deal with all the Global Business Units (GBU) and the production plants.We can count on you for:Provide solutions in technical meetings with the project engineer, production and maintenance plant manager, or technical staff for new equipment (CAPEX) and Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO)Develop and maintain an internal network of technical and scientific key contacts (site and R&T process engineers, scientific experts) to share knowledge, skills and experience. This process involves the sharing of ideas, strategies, processes and techniques through organizational trainingEstablish a network of external specialists in the field of materials to improve expertise and keep the knowledge updated (state-of-the-art materials)Write technical reports or make critical assessments of technical reportsProvide technological information (via presentations, official documents, technical reports) to internal and external stakeholdersEnsure the security, quality, availability of equipment and installation regarding their aging behaviorProvide troubleshooting of production equipment with a proposal for immediate repair and a long-term solution based on internal investigations and experience feedbackYou can count on us for:This role offers a unique opportunity for you to contribute to the ambitious transformation journey that Solvay is launching to upscale our capabilities. A degree in Welding Engineering (like European Welding Engineer) is a plus
