The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Venice, belonging to Marriott International is currently recruiting for a Marketing Manager.

Reporting to the Multi-property Marketing Director, we offer a full time, permanent role.

The impact you’ll make

The position would suit a dynamic and independent marketer who is able to drive the integrated marketing strategies designed to position the hotel in the country for domestic and international visitors. The position requires experiences in all aspects of the marketing mix with a luxury brand of a dynamic international hotel, understanding of Restaurant & Bar Marketing and operational knowledge. The ideal candidate will enhance The Gritti Palace experience driven by creative and aspirational programming, promotions, and activities in F&B venues, suites and spa. Ensure consistent and smooth operation during evening and weekend events and manage all social media channels with the support of the Marketing Director.

JOB FUNCTIONS

In conjunction with the Sales team, takes responsibility for the delivery of the annual Marketing plans in line with the hotel strategic priorities and revenue target by market segments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be responsible for the execution of content creation as well as the briefing to creative agencies (including copy writing, photo/video shootings) ensuring delivery in adherence with brand guidelines and hotel positioning.

  • Drive the positioning and activation of the F&B outlets on the local market. Develop & implement local marketing activities (including event strategy) aiming to engage with locals and increase capture ratio from in-house guests.

  • Act as a Brand Champion with the hotel teams. Together with the Sales team, drive brand activation, ensure the brand experience comes alive through the hotel messaging, and guest experience.

  • Support sales team with the creation of marketing collateral and tactical promotions associated with the key market segments

  • Ensure full compliance with all Marriott International standards & programs.

  • Champion the Social Media strategy in collaboration with Digital Field Marketing in line with the brand positioning and hotels’ stories. Specific focus on online reputation management and guest engagement.

  • Constantly monitoring and update competitive research analysis.

  • Assist with all local promotional activities that support the needs of the hotel and restaurants/bars. This could include photo shoots, broadcasts, celebrity interviews, press visits and other specific events that require personal attention. Also, forge local partnerships and review opportunities for local level promotions and sponsorships to gain recognition and beneficial status within the community.

  • Uses and interprets all reports necessary for sound marketing recommendations, including but not limited to DMA source market reports, past guest lists (using leisure rate codes) and tracking.

  • Maintains close communication with their respective Convention Bureaus and Tourism Offices.

  • Implement a strategic marketing plan for the property, including group, leisure and local activities.

  • Provides creative and unique tools for all sales channels to assist in property sales and marketing.

  • Acts as a link between corporate and the individual property in implementing brand and corporate programs and in ensuring that the property takes advantage of all the opportunities offered by the company.

  • Assist the property with materials, monitoring / analysis and compiling presentations to owners.

  • Maintain detailed files and records on all matters relating to the property’s marketing materials (rights to use photos and videos, contracts with suppliers, etc.).

  • Collaborate with content creators to develop content with the voice of the brand.

  • Works with Director of Marketing to manage marketing budget throughout the year.

  • Tracks return on investment (ROI) of all marketing initiatives, including online, direct mail and print advertising.

  • Supports Director of Marketing with developing strategic marketing plan for property, includes group, leisure and local efforts.

  • Connect with local and national PR teams as necessary.

REVENUE GENERATION

  • Work with sales team to drive RPI, new collateral and packages (as relevant).

  • Create schedule of pre and post stay marketing messages based on calendar and need periods.

  • React to meetings/banqueting and room sales forecasts with appropriate sales/field marketing assistance.

  • Work with Marketing Team to optimize, design and build relevant digital channels.

  • Create content for hotel website.

  • Assist in connecting property to all Marriott internal sales channels.

  • Work with Marketing Team to evaluate new marketing opportunities for the property.

  • Support the Sales team in the creation of consortia specific packages and materials as relevant.

DIGITAL

  • Measure and evaluate the impact of all content and initiatives.

  • Implement brand direction on new websites (internal/external), imagery and content.

  • Collaborates with the Digital Field team to deliver multi-lingual tactical marketing campaigns in all segments.

  • Collaborates with the Digital Field team to manage OTA updates, text and photography.

  • Maintain and coordinate all video and photography updates and audits.

  • Manage all social media channel posts.

  • Work with appropriate hotel teams to manage reputation review sites.

  • Ensures the property is represented on all quality Internet sites that have the potential to deliver business

  • Assists the property in developing promotions for various campaigns, bearing in mind the strategy and objectives of the promotion, as well as the necessary conditions-

  • Work with the Sales team to ensure the property is correctly represented in consortia websites.

COLLATERAL

  • Brief all design collateral to outside agencies as required.

  • Ensure all printed, electronic and guest facing material is on brand.

  • Regularly appraise all material ensuring on brand and locally relevant.

  • Ensure all hotel teams are proficient with brand standards when designing in house.

  • Collaborate with Sales for the creation of consortia specific collaterals.

REQUIREMENTS

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job:

  • Must be eligible to work in the EU

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand Italian and English at native level.

  • Excellent internal and external communication skills, both verbal and written

  • True Brand ambassador

  • Event management / organizational skills

  • Understanding of consumer trends in the digital sphere

  • Innovative, proactive and resourceful

  • Passion for the travel & hospitality industries

  • Ability to analyze data and establish appropriate action plans

  • Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, In Design and Premiere Pro is preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of marketing experience
