When someone chooses to study at one of our institutions- whether on campus in Europe, North America or even in their own home – they’re joining a network of 75,000 students worldwide.We are based in some of the world’s biggest cities, with campuses in London, Birmingham and Manchester, across the Atlantic in Toronto, Chicago and Vancouver; and across the globe in Singapore, Germany and Israel.PositionMarketing Director (BSBI)Permanent, Full-timeThe Marketing Director has a critical role in the development of brand strategy for all the brands under the UK College Division, taking overall accountability for the development, maintenance and growth of the brand portfolio and is also responsible for all brand and marketing propositions and delivery of key revenue growth and budget management. The Marketing Director is responsible for and will help develop, agree, and manage the overarching marketing strategy (including lead volumes, lead quality, business plans, revenue forecasts and ROI) for all current and new revenue generation initiatives and campaigns (via all online and offline marketing channels). The Marketing Director will work with the Co-CEOs and Institution MDs to agree lead, revenue and student generation targets by brand / product; and regularly report on the performance of set targets and the Marketing Teams (Affiliate, Digital, Offline and Social), as well as working alongside with the Direct Sales Teams against such agreed targets. They will also develop, report and manage a pipeline of opportunities in accordance with the marketing growth strategy and liaise with all relevant stakeholders and marketing team(s) to ensure that all activities are carried out profitably and all campaigns are optimised to ensure lead quality, ensuring all deadlines are met. They will also ensure continued alignment with the budget, lead and student targets as well as with all agreed SLA’s and KPI’s and in accordance with brand requirements. The Marketing Director will ensure accurate and standardised reporting is carried out and will develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure their appropriate involvement during each stage of the marketing process as well as to identify, agree and implement an integrated marketing plan to foster an effective marketing approach. In addition to the responsibilities listed above, from time to time there may be a requirement to perform other duties as outlined by the Co-CEOs and the institutional MDs.Requirements

  • Delivering and enhancing a comprehensive and aligned strategic Marketing Plan, and implement such Marketing Plans with the support of relevant services team(s) across all marketing channels
  • Lead the Strategic Marketing department to support a culture of performance, innovation, partnership working and a focus on delivery. Line managing the Heads of Teams responsible for marketing.
  • Enhance our approach by devising and coordinating strategic marketing plans, including influencing market insight, programme development, student enquiries and conversion.
  • Develop and lead integrated campaigns that increases brand awareness and strengthens the reputation of the colleges
  • Lead on all college events activity including an annual programme of major events, graduate ceremonies and partnership opportunities to strengthen our reputation and reach.
  • Manage the delivery of the internal communications plan – to ensure two-way communication, support staff engagement and information sharing – creating a transformation culture.

  • Continually enhance the colleges website and digital communications activities, providing direction on positioning, content, user experience, look/ feel and innovation thereby ensuring consistency is brought to digital touchpoints and the wider digital estate
  • Managing the Marketing budget for all marketing activities with a focus on lead generation, conversion and meeting all student and revenue targets, with focus on effective and profitable targeting through the funnel.
  • Enhancing ‘Customer Relationship Management’ processes and technologies by proactively securing platforms and opportunities that build the college’s reputation and reach
  • Ensuring all brand and marketing activities are aligned to the overall strategy, including nurturing, go to market optimisation and improving efficiencies.
  • Increasing brand awareness and brand reputation, guiding and having input into all creative briefs for all internal and external communications across offline and online media
  • Reviewing and where necessary agreeing relevant KPIs and clear responsibilities on the timely reporting of all marketing performance, brand equity and lead generation.
  • Working with the Marketing and digital teams to ensure the quality and performance of leads that get generated.
  • Working closely with Partners and key Stakeholders to develop effective relationships to understand their Product Portfolio, to effectively drive the Marketing of the Brand’s Products to prospective Students.
  • Analysing post campaign reports (i.e. PPC report, Keywords Performance Report, GA report, CRM report) and implementing recommendations
  • Collaborating with the Business Development team to agree forecasts and ensure marketing support is provided for the relevant brand(s) (where applicable).
  • Developing and owning the product life cycle (current portfolio of courses and new products/partnerships) both domestically and internationally
  • Overseeing the effective development of all the relevant brand’s marketing team to ensure that they hold a solid knowledge and understanding of the company’s product portfolio and are effectively utilizing all marketing channels, in line with KPI’s and lead and revenue targets
  • Agreeing on marketing forecasts and team targets across a 12-month period and to align the business plan, accordingly, responding to market forces
  • Managing commercial relationships with external parties, reviewing contracts and ensuring value for money across all activities
  • Overseeing all marketing communications to potential students and current students to ensure correct information is sent as part of the wider consumer journey, in line with PIP policies and procedures
  • To ensure that all direct reports comply with the Company’s core Policies and Procedures as detailed within the Company’s Employee Handbook and/or communicated by the HR Department from time to time
  • To report any non-compliance by Employees of Company Policies and Procedures, and to work with the HR Department to ensure appropriate informal and/or formal action is taken in line with the Company’s Disciplinary Procedure
  • To work with the HR Department to affect the resolution of any Employees Grievances (both informal and formal), which may arise from time to time, in line with the Company’s Grievance Procedure

  • To ensure that all relevant ‘Recruitment’ and ‘New Starter’ Procedures are followed, for each of your new direct reports (including but not limited to, submitting authorised Hiring Request Forms, submitting [GUS] Marketing Director JD – UK College Division 3 | P a g e Job Profile New Account Creation Forms, allocating an appropriate ‘Buddy’, issuing 3-6 Month Objectives and undertaking 3 / 6-month Probationary Reviews)
  • To undertake a meaningful Annual Appraisal with each of your Direct Reports each year, in line with the HR Department Appraisal Process
  • To work with the HR Department in relation to any ad-hoc issues which arise with your Direct Reports (including but not limited to Maternity and Family Friendly issues, Employee Benefit issues and Holiday / Absence issues).

  • Strong understanding of, and previous experience of working with CRM
