A Lead Manufacturing Technician is a well respected and key role within Thermo Fisher Scientific. Primary responsibilities as follows:

Drive the improvement of safety in your work environments

  • Follow the company 4I’s of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation & Involvement.

  • Reporting on safety issues, ensuring all Technicians PPE is worn correctly.

  • Ensure housekeeping & 5S standards are maintained within the manufacturing facility.

  • Achieve and maintain all training to required standard.

  • Ensure the quality product is complete to hit the desired target.

Proficiencies are of the highest standards

  • Ensure schedule adherence on your production line.

  • Supervise performance of staff and equipment on your line, reporting any areas of concerns to shift leaders.

  • Liaise with Shift Leaders or Supervisor on any issues.

  • Involvement as subject matter authorities in audits to ensure compliance throughout.

  • PPI, drive continuous improvement through gemba, JDI, RCCM, mentor, effectivity checks. Representing manufacturing in any proposed new process introductions. Improving efficiencies on lines and having major participation in Kaizen events.

  • Leading by example – be a role model to our team.

  • Own and Conduct effective shift handovers.

  • Able to present data and line information to diverse groups of staff.

  • Accurate recording of information in batch records and any relevant logs.

  • Build a positive working environment.

  • Lead RCCM investigations to a high standard.

  • Able to mentor all technicians on safety, quality and performance standards.

  • Ensure the processes are followed and accurate.

  • May be required to perform other tasks as the needed.

  • Desire to lead and expand within this role and potentially beyond.

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant field is beneficial. High school diploma or equivalent experience is necessary.

  • Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing leadership role.

  • Consistent track record in handling production teams.

  • Experience in implementing and optimizing production processes.

  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing operations.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to compete in a fast-paced environment with bold targets.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

This role involves physical activity, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds. Work environment includes exposure to manufacturing noise and chemicals.
