Job Summary

You will be responsible for the effective management and leadership of the Hull plant operations team, consisting of multiple production areas, warehousing, and quality. Using your experience to manage the daily operations of the manufacturing facility & coordinating all the activities that go into the production process.

Specific Responsibilities

• As a member of the senior management team, you will contribute to the creation and implementation of the manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.

• Effectively and efficiently manage the production of the required daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with customer specifications, meeting quality and delivery expectations, minimising costs where possible and ensure the required best working practices are maintained at all times.

• Promote and & coach the use of lean tools throughout the operations team to effectively define root cause and drive a consistent approach to problem solving.

• Manage, coach and develop a high performing manufacturing team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers results, added value and continuous improvements

• Set departmental objectives/KPIs in line with the strategy and reviews and assess ongoing performance.

• Motivate and coach the team to operational success and a positive working culture.

• Consistently promote high standards through personal example, and roll out through the team

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance.

Skills/Requirements

• Advanced understanding of Lean manufacturing tools

• Excellent leadership and people management skills able to problem solve and coach these skills to others, to drive implementation of practical solutions

• Enthusiastic and self-motivated, with a flexible and supportive approach to engage, motivate and energise at all levels of the organization

• Extensive leadership experience in a similar manufacturing environment

• Excellent organisational skills

• High level of health and safety understanding and capability

• Capability with Microsoft Office & ERP systems (preferably SAP)

Travel Requirements

The role will be predominantly based at our Hull site will require occasional travel to our other UK sites and very occasional international travel.
