You will be part of a global R&D team of Process Engineers working on exploration and technology development projects, leading the innovation of blade manufacturing processes.How to contribute to our visionIn the role as Manufacturing Development Specialist you will be responsible for developing manufacturing technologies for offshore Wind Turbine Blades within the area of resin infusion, material deposition, post treatment or composite manufacturing in general. You will be working with concept development and testing of process, new materials and equipment together with a highly skilled team of Specialists. In addition to developing the future manufacturing technologies, you will support in defining and developing the manufacturing roadmap within one or few of the core technology areas.Your achievements will be further implemented in serial blade production. This will be done with close collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders from Blade design team to global tooling design and local plant engineers. You will be part of a young and motivated team where we focus on state-of-the-art technology and innovation.What you need to make a differencePassion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. Furthermore, you hold a M.Sc. in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Materials Engineering – Or a similar educational background. Ideally you hold a PhD within composites manufacturing.
- More than 3 years of work experience with R&D projects within the composite manufacturing field. Experience with European funded R&D projects or other public funds will be an advantage.
- Experience with testing and implementation of new composite manufacturing processes
- Advanced understanding on composite mechanics
- Knowledge on material characterization for process development (permeability, viscosity…)
- Knowledge on preform and/or prepreg technologies, or material deposition in general
- A good understanding of vacuum infusion process will be a plus
- Hands-on experience in composite manufacturing processes
- Excellent English skills both orally and in writing
- Experienced user of MS-Office
In addition, you have a structured approach to your work and can handle simultaneous assignments without losing overview.
