Purgos is a Danish legal entity based on the discovery and application development made by Shark Solutions in the search of a low-toxic and low-volatile organic compound alternative to traditional biocides used in its own manufacturing processes.The use of Purgos’ chemical substance discovery holds substantial potential as a next-generation low-toxic biocide (or biocide equivalent) for multiple industrial and consumer applications. It has proven effective as a preservative in several industrial applications including paints, coatings and wood protection as well as a general bactericidal and fungicidal action. Early indications also suggest possible use as a preservative within e.g. cosmetics and skin care applications as well as a range of other water borne industrial and consumer products.In short, the solution is ready as base solution, the customers are very interested, and the funding is there, and now, a Managing Director remains to set-up the organization, find an office location, hire the right people, establish manufacturing and logistics processes, and to engage with a strong pipeline of customer leads and materialize user specific product formulations.Head a game-changing company in the traditional industry for preservationsIn the role as Managing Director, you will step into an entrepreneurial role, where you will be responsible for driving development, growth and sales of low tox preservation solutions across Europe and the US, and you can expect up to 40-50% travelling across continents. The business model needs further development, but has already proven its worth, with existing business and a premier pipeline of high-quality customer leads.The customers will be represented in various industries, including paints, coatings, carpet, wood construction, cosmetics and beyond. Because of the nature of the industry, you can expect that when entering agreements, you will meet questions about regulations, compliance and documentation, and to support you in this, you will collaborate with experts and specialists. Most importantly, you can build an organization and processes, whilst being a working role model in sales and business development.Your main tasks will include:

  • Developing and implementing a company structure, including finding an office location, establishing lab facilities and a small operations unit on Zealand.
  • Recruiting staff and building a team.
  • Growing sales to new customer leads and develop customer relations.
  • Delivering on sales targets based on key performance metrics.
  • Overseeing an Application R&D team that consists of a dedicated team at the Danish Technical Institute (DTI) as part of an EU/LIFE project.
  • Keeping informed on industry trends, products, services, competitors, existing, and emerging technologies, and product-line developments.
  • Full P/L responsibility.

Entrepreneurial sales operations leader with a background in Microbiology/ChemistryAs Managing Director, it is imperative that you engage in and communicate with your teams, partners, suppliers, and stakeholders. While being entrepreneurial, you balance it with a strong process flair, where you can take an idea and product to next step and create a structured environment, processes and make it scalable.Furthermore, you demonstrate well-tuned team-work skills and have an ability to grow existing business, identify opportunities, expand, and convert a pipeline of qualified leads, along with setting the right team, organizing logistics, laboratory and business development. In short, you are somewhat of a ‘Jack of all trades’. As a leader, you have a genuine interest in building, leading and motivating others.Your professional skills include following:

  • Master’s degree in Microbiology, Chemical Engineering or related field of study, combined with a professional understanding of regulations, compliance, and documentation.
  • A minimum of 10 years of proven technical sales and leadership experience and preferably from sales of Chemicals, Microbiology, or Biocides.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various business functions such as operations, sales, logistics, and finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to create compelling presentations, understand contract complexities, and negotiate agreements.
  • Fluent proficiency in English and located in close proximities to Zealand (where the future office will be located).
