This provides an optimal environment for research, working and living.ContextCentrale Lille is seeking a Project Manager to support the SWEATPATCH (EIC-Pathfinder) and CanDoIt (MSCA-DN) projects respectively coordinated by Prof. Pernod and Prof. Talbi.SWEATPATCH EIC pathfinder open: Remote SWEAT Skin PATCH for Monitoring Breast Cancer Therapeutic ResponseSWEATPATCH is a Horizon-EIC-2023 European pathfinder open project (No 1201130618), which involves 11 renowned European research Institutions and industrial partners from 5 countries (including two companies, and one partner from UK). Its total budget (including UK budget) is 3.19 M€. SWEATPATCH aims at developing and clinically test, a disruptive wearable and remotely queryable passive patch that will enable eal-time monitoring of the therapeutic response in breast cancer patients through the analysis of selected relevant VOCs biomarkers originating from the evaporation of sweat on skin.CanDoIt – MSCA doctoral network on Intelligent Breast Cancer Diagnosis and Monitoring Therapeutic ResponseThe CanDoIt is a Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Network. It integrates 18 teams, academic and non-academic participants from 5 European countries, with unique and outstanding expertise. CanDoIt aims to train 12 doctoral candidates for the development of multimodal biosensors for Breast Cancer diagnosis and therapeutic response monitoring. This project has received funding for 10 Doctoral candidates (DC) from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under the MSCA grant agreement No 101120186 and funding of 2 DCs from the UK Research and Innovation (total budget about 2.7 M€).Missions of the project managerPlaced alongside the two scientific coordinators, the project manager will assist them in the coordination of both projects. He/she will be responsible for the animation of the two consortiums and for facilitating the general functioning of the consortiums in accordance with the terms of the grants and the consortium agreements. These functions will cover a range of tasks related to organizational, administrative, financial, legal, training and ethical management of projects as well as communication. This includes providing support in the coordination of management deliverables, organization and administration of training activities, reporting obligations, financial monitoring, setting quality procedures.The project manager will work in conjunction with the relevant Centrale Lille Institute and IEMN services the consortia partners of the two scientific projects and Europe.A competitive salary is offered through the two European Projects funds.In detail, this position will cover the following tasks:Project Coordination and Communication

  • Supervising the implementation and coordinating of all management aspects of the Sweatpatch and CanDoIt projects, such as preparation and execution of meetings, agendas and minutes, recruitment processes, monitoring of their respective work plans, and assisting the Project Coordinators in daily coordination.
  • Preparing, monitoring and updating the management tools necessary for the management of the projects (methodological guide of procedures, standard templates of documents, collaborative platforms, etc.);
  • Managing the day-to-day operational aspects of the projects;
  • Co-animating the network and the exchanges between partners;
  • Writing agendas and minutes of consortium meetings and events;
  • Having a clear picture of the deliverables and timelines, to ensure coordination among partners and their timely delivery;
  • Ensuring communication between all beneficiaries of the project and associated partners;
  • Management of the reporting obligations of the consortium.
  • Organization and administration of all training activities, both virtual and in-person, to be organized within the framework of the MSCA project, including travel and accommodation/catering arrangements as needed.
  • Acting as an intermediary between the European Commission and the consortia on administrative aspects;
  • Editing /or tailoring written materials produced by the project. Ensuring completion of project documentation, keeping it updated and correctly filed;
  • Implementing internal (mailing, intranet, etc.) and external communication actions: generating and/or ensuring the production of content for the communication platforms and targeting different audiences, preparation of press releases, coordination of the website, newsletter, communication on social networks, research notes, success stories, reports to media and social media etc.);
  • Organizing and leading consortium meetings, conferences, seminars and workshops, exhibitions, events, etc.;
  • For MSCA: organizing training sessions, and secondments for the 12 DCs;
  • Set up and implementation of quality procedures, including risk management and feedback processes.
  • Participating in the construction of a roadmap in conjunction with TTOs (for sweatpatch), to establish the perspectives of valorisation of research work and define the research results conceivable for a future translation into innovations.

Administrative and financial management

  • Assisting laboratories and partners on the administrative and financial aspects of the projects, controlling the application of the administrative rules and procedures specific to Horizon Europe and those of the Centrale Lille Institute;
  • Following the contractual deadlines: production of deliverables and participating in the drafting of management and activity reports;
  • Following the expenses in connection with the competent services (breakdown and transfer of funds, update and follow up of the budget, budget control, keeping track of the project’s budget / expenditure internal financial summaries, explanation of financial rules, etc.);
  • Coordinating the preparation, consolidation and submission of financial reports (C forms / REA) in conjunction with the relevant departments and within the deadlines specified by the European Commission;
  • Ensuring that any supporting documents are properly prepared and kept by Centrale Lille Institute and each partner, in anticipation of possible audits.

Legal and ethical follow-up

  • Ensuring compliance with the obligations described in the grant agreements and consortium agreements;
  • Following and updating contractual documents (amendments) in connection with the relevant departments;
  • Informing and advising partners on legal and ethical issues;
  • Ensuring and organizing the follow-up of the external ethics committee.
  • Ensuring the proper implementation of clinical and social study protocols
  • Raising awareness of partners on transversal issues, such as dissemination of results, respect for gender equality, ethics, environmental impact, development of science/society links, etc;

  • You hold a Master’s Degree or PhD’s Degree (highly valued) as well as a project management experience in European projects; Knowledge in Engineering or Biomedical science or Related Fields would be appreciated;
  • Experience about finance management, IPR concerns and ethics issues is valued; Knowledge of Horizon environment will be appreciated;
  • You have a high level of proficiency in spoken and written English, as this will be the working language for both projects;
  • You are a highly-organized person, collaborative and communicative with analytical skills and ability to meet strict deadlines; you must be able to summarize meeting reports and to sort tasks by level of importance in order to ensure the delivery of reports in due course;
  • You are enthusiastic, dynamic, proactive and flexible and have capacities in problem-solving, prioritization, and autonomous time and workflow management; you have capacity for teamwork;

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of EU regulations (legal, administrative and financial rules of Horizon Europe and in particular rules applicable to Pathfinder MSCA projects) and European policies related to research and innovation
  • Knowledge of the European institutional environment and the national and European research landscape
  • Operating methods of public administrations project management methodology
  • Analysis of accounting and financial data experience in European project management
  • General knowledge of open science (open data and publications etc.)
  • Knowledge of Intellectual Property and Research Ethics
