Offer DescriptionThe Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Manager to lead the Glassblowing Workshop, in the Reaction Technologies Department, part of the scientific core facilities.ICIQ is one of the world’s internationally recognized leading institutions in the field of chemistry committed to solving major social and economic challenges by conducting top quality research in three main areas: SustainableCatalysis, Renewable Energy and Health. The institute also aims at training the future generation of scientists by offering high-quality educational programs to master, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers (full details on ).The candidate will manage the Glassblowing Workshop in the Reaction Technologies Department at ICIQ.Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Organization and management of the workshop.
• Workshop budget proposal and management.
• Record of the work done.
• Invoicing of the works done.
• Purchases of glass components needed at the workshop.
• Definition of the tools and machinery necessary in the workshop.
• Definition of the operation of the workshop.
• Definition of the services provided.
• Design of glass parts.
• Manufacture and repair of glass parts.
• Design of solutions involving glass parts as part of experimental setups.

Requirements:

• Five years of experience working as a glassblower.
• Three-year experience in scientific glassblower.
• Command of Catalan and/or Spanish and a good level of spoken English.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
