About you and this role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for Maintenance Technician to be located at Barry, UK.

Provides maintenance support to plants specific to mechanical equipment. Maintains and repairs all types of rotating equipment within craft knowledge and expertise. Requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and corrects rotating and mechanical equipment problems.

• Calibrates and aligns equipment.

• Completes preventative maintenance activities.

• Checks sizing of components and parts.

• Specifies, requisitions, and installs parts and equipment.

• Coordinates maintenance spare parts.

• Assists in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling maintenance through planner, work coordinator and operations input.

• Repairs, maintains and installs equipment and machinery which is used in the process.

• Troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions and documents failure analysis.

• Collects equipment operation and history data to facilitate reliability improvements.

• Works within established Maintenance Work Processes and helps resolve issues that surface as a result of planning and scheduling work.

Qualifications

• 4years of Apprenticeship and HNC qualification. (BTEC Higher)

• Experience of maintaining, installing and repairing rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, agitators, compressors is preferred.

• Minimum 4 years of experience in Manufacturing and Petrochemical industries preferred.
