Job description

You will work as an integral part of the Works Department team under the Estates Directorate, to carry out and assist with the maintenance, monitoring and repair internally and externally to buildings and associated equipment and areas within the University.You should be available to work out of hours, on a call out rota (which may cover holiday periods).About the person:The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:

  • Relevant academic/vocational qualifications (e.g. GCSE, O level, NVQ 2 or equivalent).
  • Substantial recent relevant experience in a building/electrical/plumbing role maintaining buildings, systems and plant in a similar environment to the University.
  • Evidence of good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Working knowledge of building/electrical/plumbing systems.
  • Valid full UK driving license.
  • Available for out of hours work (including statutory holiday periods) and be on an call out rota (if required)
