MISSION
As part of its strategic growth, CMA CGM is seeking a M&A Manager.
Reporting to the M&A Department of the CMA CGM Group, you will contribute to guiding strategic development projects in close collaboration with the Group’s Executive Management.
The M&A Manager reports directly to the Deputy Vice President – Head of M&A. This position is 100% based at the headquarters in Marseille.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Your main responsibilities will include identifying, proposing, and implementing strategic initiatives (in particular alliances, partnerships, divestitures, acquisitions, asset purchases, etc.) in France or abroad, working closely with the Group’s Financial Department and the heads of our various operational divisions:
- You will conduct market analyses, competition mapping, and identify potential growth targets internationally;
- You will present opportunities aligned with our growth ambitions across different markets;
- You will oversee and coordinate all stages of transactions: target evaluation, due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, negotiation, and signing of legal documentation, ensuring all associated legal, financial, and tax contingencies are considered;
- You will lead these development projects by managing multidisciplinary teams designated for each operation;
- You will monitor the implementation of agreements and contracts, ensuring commitments are properly executed;
- You will contribute to related M&A projects: structuring, financing, PPA, integration, etc.
- You will be responsible for obtaining the necessary approvals from Executive Management by preparing files and involving the relevant operational and functional entities in compliance with internal governance processes.
This position does not involve team management.
PROFILE AND SKILLS
Master’s degree from a business or engineering school, specializing in financial analysis.
At least 5 years of experience in a similar role within an investment bank, audit firm (transaction services), or a large international corporation. Prior experience in a financial due diligence team would be appreciated.
You have extensive knowledge of partnerships, mergers & acquisitions, international development, and finance.
Proactive in a demanding and motivating environment, you are skilled at making informed decisions collaboratively. Dynamic and responsive, you have strong interpersonal skills and can work independently and transparently, adapting to unexpected situations.
Experience in logistics, transportation, or infrastructure sectors would be a plus.
Project management skills.
Fluent and operational in English and French.
