We explore new technologies and invest in infrastructure to accommodate hydrogen, biomethane, CO2 and other molecules for a climate neutral future.For our M&A and Financial Advisory department at our office in Brussels (near to Central Station and subway, ) we’re looking for a M&A and Financial Advisory Officer (m/f/x).The Mergers & Acquisitions and Financial Advisory team is responsible for providing Fluxys Group management with financial analysis and valuation of M&A and business development projects, including energy transition projects related to hydrogen, carbon capture and ammonia. The team is as well responsible for monitoring the long-term business plans of our existing assets to maximize the value of our investments while seizing growth opportunities and identifying risks.Job
purposeYou will be responsible for the valuation and risk analysis of new projects, including developing financial models and drafting of investment presentations.You will work on various projects: M&A/Business Development projects in Belgium, Europe and overseas, covering Fluxys existing and new businesses (hydrogen, energy transition, carbon capture…).You will be involved in each phase of a project: opportunity assessment, structuring, development, construction/implementation, operations and continuous improvement of existing investment.My steep learning curve motivates me and keeps me here– Nick Rys, Product ManagerYour
respon­sibilities

  • You will create and manage complex financial models, calculate the return on and / the purchase price of the various companies in the context of Merger & Acquisition / business development / new business projects
  • starting and stopping machines such as pumps and compressors in line with the send-out programme and the loading and unloading of ships, among other things
  • You will lead regulatory and financial due diligence of the project, challenge the input from other streams, identify value drivers, main risks and sources of optimizations
  • You will work within a cross-functional project team and actively participate in discussions on the non-financial streams of the projects (commercial, technical, tax, legal, etc.) to integrate the risks and opportunities identified in your analyses
  • You will be involved in business development and acquisition projects as well as existing investment performing analysis to maximise the value of a business
  • You will coordinate and act as a key contact person for our investment banks, financial advisors and the business development team
  • You will identify and implement improvements for value creation in terms of cost efficiency, financing, capital structure, cash management and other business plan optimisations
  • You will craft and deliver impactful conclusions to both management and the board
  • After the transactions or for existing investments, you will ensure good financial follow-up of the affiliates and assess performance of the projects. You will therefore monitor the business valuation and return on investment, which involves cash flow projections, business plan set up and review, business modelling and sensitivity analyses

  • You hold a Master degree in Finance/Economics/Business Management or Similar
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Advisory or Corporate M&A, Corporate Finance, Private Equity or Business Development, with an expertise in business valuation and modelling
  • You demonstrate a deep understanding and experience of corporate finance, valuation techniques and financial analysis (modelling, business plan analysis, cost of capital,…)
  • You possess strong presentation skills, have the ability to persuade effectively, and listen attentively to tailor your message to your audience, making a significant impact
  • You navigate and adapt to changing and uncertain organizational conditions with agility and foresight
  • You are proactive, seize opportunities, develop concrete proposals and take actions to achieve business goals
  • You are known for your excellent analytical skills and ability to handle several projects simultaneously
  • You are eager to join a dynamic company in the transitioning energy sector, tackling intellectually and societally significant challenges. You have therefore a strong interest in the energy sector and innovation
  • You master Excel, PowerPoint
  • You are fluent in Dutch, French and English
