Job description
The Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) at the University of Navarra offers a postdoctoral position within a project focused on advancing training processes in psychology and psychotherapy across Latin America (LATAM). The initiative aims to build an international network of educators to strengthen teaching practices, enhance collaboration, and promote evidence-based approaches. The researcher will also contribute to developing AI-driven tools and educational resources for therapist training, bridging technology, research, and practice. This position offers opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, scientific publications, and a global impact on psychotherapy education.Description of the group:The research group at the Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) of the University of Navarra is increasingly focusing on psychotherapy research, exploring changes in variables such as attachment behaviours, therapeutic alliance, mental health outcomes, and dyadic adjustment. These studies aim to deepen the understanding of psychotherapeutic processes and outcomes, particularly in the context of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and relational approaches. The group has developed two significant research lines: the AMAR (Antecedents of Marital Adjustment Research) longitudinal study, which examines predictors of marital satisfaction and adjustment, and the E(f)FECTS project, a randomized clinical trial evaluating the efficacy of EFT in Spanish-speaking couples, now completed in both intervention and follow-up phases.
This work is grounded in a multidisciplinary approach, bringing together experts from Psychology, Medicine, Philosophy, and related fields to investigate how evidence-based therapies can improve couple relationships and individual well-being. By linking research with practice, the group aims to develop innovative tools and training resources to support therapists and enhance the global impact of psychotherapy.Project description:The primary goal of the project is to build an international network of educators in psychology and psychotherapy to strengthen their teaching practices, enhance collaboration, and promote the adoption of evidence-based approaches. This network will provide a platform for sharing best practices in training future psychotherapists, fostering connections among professionals across Latin America and globally, and raising awareness about the distinctions between fully validated models and those still under development.
The ideal candidate will bring expertise in artificial intelligence (AI) applied to therapy or psycholinguistics with AI tools. Their work will focus on analyzing psychotherapy processes and developing innovative, data-driven educational resources to enhance therapist training. Familiarity with evidence-based practices and sensitivity to cross-cultural dynamics are highly valued. This initiative bridges technology, research, and practice, fostering innovation in psychotherapy education and strengthening the global impact of evidence-based approaches, particularly within the diverse sociocultural contexts of LATAM.Candidate requirements:General Requirements:
