The Long-Term Planning Analyst will join our Graduate Program, which provides for enhanced training and opportunities to experience working in Secretariat Sections, and with international exposure. If yes, ENTSO-E is the right place for you.The Long-Term Planning Analyst will take part in ENTSO-E’s Graduate Program, aiming at developing the next generation of energy market thought leaders.Your primary assignment will be in the Long-term Planning team, where you can expect to provide support and actively contribute to various tasks of the team. The Long-Term Planning team oversees the preparation and development of the Ten-Year Network Development Plan (TYNDP) package, including development of Scenarios, System Needs study, Offshore Network Development Plan (ONDP), Cost-Benefit Analysis and other supporting studies covering timeframes from 5 years ahead to around 30 years ahead.You will contribute to the Association work mainly in the areas of supporting development of methodologies, in the efficient running and delivery of the TYNDP package, including stakeholder interactions. Activities include, but are not limited to, supporting project management, data collections, technical coordination, and interactions with stakeholders. You will also support the work of the different groups involved in the project (Steering Group, Working Groups, Regional Groups). As a Graduate, you can expect guidance from other team members to perform tasks but can also be asked to take the lead on some specific aspects/projects.The role is based in ENTSO-E’s office in Brussels in the System Development section, reporting directly to the Long-Term Planning Manager. You will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid model, allowing for a blend of remote and in-office work to support a good work-life balance.Travelling limited to 2-5 times per year (approximately 2 days each) may be required.Your responsibilitiesThe tasks can evolve, depending on the priorities in the teams and in the section. Key tasks and responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical support and key inputs to data collections or projects.
- Supporting the development of methodologies such as Cost-Benefit Analysis and Multi-Sectorial integration.
- Supporting innovation to improve tools and/or modelling approaches to achieve higher quality and improve efficiency.
- Ensure projects in the TYNDP meet all necessary technical and administrative criteria.
- Be a key contact point for project promoters, under the guidance of senior colleagues, to support them in their participation in the TYNDP.
- Proactively looking for opportunities to improve communication, processes, and models, under guidance from more senior colleagues.
- Drafting technical documentation and reports.
- Supporting internal communications with Steering Groups, Regional Groups and/or other expert level groups at ENTSO-E.
- Preparing and moderating ENTSO-E meetings, incl. preparing agendas, session files, presentations, and decisions, drafting minutes, tracking actions and following up to closeout actions.
- Collaborate with teams and ENTSO-E’s members during your rotations to support cross-functional initiatives.
Your profileWe are looking for someone with the following skills and abilities:
- University degree, preferably in electrical engineering or energy engineering. Experience in the electricity sector is an asset.
- Good knowledge of the energy sector. Good understanding of European energy landscape from a technical, regulatory, policy and market perspective.
- Good understanding of modelling and optimisation, ideally applied to electricity markets.
- Comfortable to get familiar with complex technical studies and able to see the helicopter view and interdependencies between projects, as well communicate on key benefits and risk mitigation actions to senior decision makers and external
- Ability to communicate about complex topics in a simple way, with a special interest in interacting with stakeholders.
- Experience in working with complex datasets and automated quality checks is a plus.
- Proven ability to plan, organise and establish priorities.
- Taking initiative, showing vision, and delivering.
- Team player with ability to self-prioritise and adapt to new priorities. Fast learner and able to adapt easily to a continuously changing work environment. Eager to take coordination initiative and facilitate consensus.
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills in English
