Logistics Assistant – Nights

The opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our Leicester Print & Raw Materials department for night shifts. The role involves processing orders, unloading vehicles of materials for the Print Department, transporting materials to press, and preparing pallets for press. This position requires significant manual pallet movement and handling of heavy goods, with minimal reliance on Fork Trucks.

How you will impact Smurfit-Westrock :

• Manually processing and picking Raw Material orders for the Print Department.

• Use of the Virtual Work Ticket system to check job criteria and status.

• Use of Print Flow Web production planning system and Radius stock management.

• Transporting and off-loading goods from HGV / LGV vehicles inbound and outbound of varying descriptions, sizes and weights using a counter-balance fork-lift truck and Manual pallet trucks.

• To operate the Guillotine machine should material need cutting on nights for Print.

• To operate the Case Making machine in the event Finishing require additional cases.

• Assist in weekend overtime cover to ensure all departments are adequately staffed.

• Assisting in the other Leicester Logistics areas in busier times.

• Ensuring the Leicester Logistics areas are always kept clean and tidy.

• Any other warehouse duties as necessary.

What you need to succeed:

• Fork-lift licence essential

• Be Health and Safety conscious and operate in a safe manner at all times adhering to company H&S policies.

• Previous warehouse/logistics experience is desirable (ideally in a carton manufacturing)

• A good level of mathematical knowledge

• Fluent in English with good communication skills.

• Be self-motivated.

• Ability to work under pressure.

• A keen eye for detail.

• Team player.
