The combined staff in UCL LCCOS totals around 440. LCCOS is part of the Office of the UCL Vice-Provost (Faculties).The UCL School of Pharmacy is the oldest Pharmacy School in the UK and joined UCL in 2012. The Library at the UCL School of Pharmacy specialises in the core pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacognosy and pharmacology, but also covers the wider biomedical spectrum.The library print collections number approximately 50,000 volumes, and UCL staff and students also have access to a wide range of online databases, electronic journals and e-books. The library contains a suite of computers and provides a laptop lending service to students. Library staff provide services including loans from stock, enquiry services, interlibrary loans and document supply, help with literature searching, information skills training as well as self-service machines. The School of Pharmacy Library team comprises of 5 FTE staff and a team of part-time, term-time only staff.About the roleThe post holder will be part of a customer-facing team working at the UCL School of Pharmacy (SoP) Library. Our team takes pride in providing the best possible user experience throughout our library and study spaces.The main purpose of this job is to provide excellent customer service and clerical support for library resources and facilities. The post holder will also support a wide range of activities including the use of technology, social media, maintenance of the estate, and the health & safety.This post is for UCL Internal Applicants Only.The full time equivalent salary for this role is £20,990.27 per annum (the salary will be pro-rated for the part-time hours (Term Time only basis). This is an on-campus role. It is not suitable for regular remote working.Manual handling is required to carry out this role. The work pattern for this part time role is as follows: Monday and Tuesday, 5pm to 10pm during the term times.The Successful Applicant will be/have:

  • Reliable, a sense of responsibility and good time management skills.
  • Proven experience of excellent customer service.
  • Excellent communication, IT and interpersonal skills.
  • Capable of a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Experience of working in a library / information environment.
  • 5 A*-C GCSE’s or equivalent.
