We welcome applications from individuals of all genders, ages, sexual orientations, nationalities, races, religions, beliefs, ability status, and all other diversity characteristics.With immediate effect, the LGBTQI+ TIC project team is looking for a:LGBTQI+ Public Health Specialist Advisor (60%)(Candidates from all countries with MSF offices will be considered, and the local salary grid will apply)Since the inception of the LGBTQI+ Inclusion Tic Project and its engagement with MSF teams to promote inclusive care, the need for more formal guidance has become apparent to effectively orient MSF projects globally. LGBTQI+ patients often present specific clinical needs that differ from those of cisgendered heterosexual patients, necessitating careful consideration.The LGBTQI+ Inclusion Tic Project acknowledges the unique challenges faced by LGBTQI+ individuals in accessing healthcare. As we strive to enhance inclusive care within MSF teams, it is increasingly clear that formalized protocols and guidelines are needed. This will ensure that LGBTQI+ patients receive tailored approaches to care that address their specific clinical needs.In this role, you will lead the development of protocols relevant to LGBTQI+ health, make recommendations to existing protocols, offer support for health service delivery, seek organizational acceptance for endorsed guidelines, and oversee other technical aspects aimed at improving access and integration of LGBTQI+ healthcare within MSF services. Your efforts will contribute significantly to ensuring that all individuals, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, receive the care and support they need through MSF’s humanitarian initiativesMain responsibilities:Use your expertise to develop and incorporate LGBTQI+ guidance into MSF’s existing medical guidelines and health interventions.Provide expert advice and assistance to projects and various medical operations within MSF. Contribute to shaping the LGBTQI+ Inclusion project, aiming to improve healthcare access, competencies, and cultural sensitivity for LGBTQI+ individuals.Stay updated on the latest developments in LGBTQI+ healthcare and help implement relevant insights into medical interventions .Adapt policies and procedures to fit the unique needs of local communities.Offer guidance and adapt protocols to ensure they align with best practices. Address any challenges in implementing these protocols within MSF projects.Ensure MSF’s approach to LGBTQI+ healthcare is based on the latest evidence and research.Provide strategic advice in collaboration with various working groups to promote best practices in LGBTQI+ healthcare.Lead the acceptance and implementation of operational policies to improve LGBTQI+ healthcare delivery.Improve guidelines, protocols, and training materials to better include LGBTQI+ patients in MSF healthcare initiatives.Candidate profile:We encourage LGBTQIA+ identifying individuals to apply; at MSF, we value diversity in background, thought, and identity, fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.Medical doctor, nursing degree, paramedical degree or other specialized technical degree in an area relevant for public healthMultiple years with MSF and exposure in multiple assignments at either project and/or HQ level, e.g., as a nurse, medical doctor or other specialist within MSFIn-depth knowledge of relevant medical specialty including post-graduate training if required for that specialtyDedicated professional and personal interest in LGBTQI+ advancements medically and sociallyFluency in English both verbal and written, other languages considered a plusBased +/- 6 hours from CET time zoneWillingness to join in this role at 60% and on a temporary basis (first contract until December 31, 2024, with likelihood to extend to a total of 18 month or longer)Competencies: Stakeholder management, Analytical thinking, Results and Quality orientation, commitment to MSF principles, flexible behaviorWe offer (If based in the Netherlands)A Dutch employment contract from June 1st, 2024, based on 24 hours per week.
