As part of its sustained growth, our client is looking for their next Legal Manager.As Legal Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that your team carries out its tasks and achieves its objectives, i.e., defending the company’s interests in the following areas: Corporate Governance, Company Law, M&A, Employment law.

  • You will report directly to the Chief Legal Officer and closely work with the Business Legal Managers. You will regularly report to CODIR and COMEX.
  • You must defend the group’s interests daily, both in Belgium and internationally, in the areas of Corporate & HR responsibility, directly or via the team depending on the file.
  • You manage the Corporate and HR support team made up of 4 people: anticipate recruitments, trainings and the development of the team. You will also manage talents and evaluations. You will plan the team’s work, communicate the objectives, establish the processes and prioritize the tasks within the team.
  • You will supervise the team’s files, advise and take decisions in collaboration with the other teams in the department. You will provide direct Corporate and HR support when necessary.
  • You will be responsible for legally structuring the Corporate side of the group and implementing agile and pragmatic procedures.
  • You will regularly interact with the international Business Units, distribute the policies, get reports and centralize corporate information.
  • You will establish a network of local experts for international support, guarantee the accuracy of legal documents, and manage the templates in the team’s areas of expertise.
  • You will ensure the conformity of the Corporate Governance policy with the CLO strategy and support it within the organization of the Board of Directors.
  • M&A management: you will supervise transactions from a legal point of view and implement the necessary tools for the systematization of M&As to report to COMEX and CLO.
  • Budget management: you will allocate the budget appropriately and manage the costs of consultants.

  • Master’s degree in law
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience as a company lawyer
  • Proven expertise in Corporate Governance, Company Law, M&A, Employment Law.
  • You are fluent in French & Dutch.
  • Ease in leadership and ideally experience in people management
  • Autonomous and solution-oriented
  • Organized and thorough
  • Good communication skills
