We are seeking a Corporate Counsel that is enthusiastic about making an impact on our efforts to shape the world’s energy future and contribute to our shared goal of accelerating the global transition to renewable energy. As Corporate Counsel, you will provide legal support for the EMEA division of Vestas’ Global Development team, with a focus on the Italian market.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support related to Wind Farm Development including energy regulatory laws, permits, property law, connection agreements and similar project agreements including but not limited to the following:
  1. Support the Development Team in reviewing a country’s regulatory regime to ensure that Vestas is in full compliance with local laws.
  2. Revision and legal provisions negotiation of Land Lease contracts related to wind turbines, Electrical Substation, Electrical Cables, Met Mast installation, Lidar deployment etc
  3. Legal review of permits application, expropriation’s decrees and concessions requests.
  4. Revision of agreements related to grid connection, service and procurement.
  5. Review of Resolutions issued for Renewable Energy Projects with potential impacts on Vestas’ portfolio.
  6. Corporate Housekeeping
  • Support potential acquisition, co-development opportunities or projects selling through preparation and legal revision of Share Purchase Agreements, Wind Turbine Exclusivity Agreements, Development Service Agreements, Notarial Deeds etc.
  • Engage and manage external lawyers across a wide range of practice areas, including M&A, tax, permitting, environmental, interconnection and other regulatory areas.
  • Identifying and managing project risks and liability issues and communicates them to the appropriate members and bodies within the organization for decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law in Italy and the compulsory Master’s degree required for the Italian bar exam.
  • At least 3 (three) years of experience practicing law in the renewable energy industry and M&A activities preferably within Renewable Energy operators or Law Firm
  • Languages: Italian and English at professional level, Spanish will be a valuable addition.
  • Flexibility with travel based on company needs and goals.
