With these values at the core of our business, our workplace holds an upbeat and inspiring team who encourage you to thrive on the opportunity to innovate and adapt to the ever-changing world we live in.Build your career in shipping and logistics, apply today join tomorrow!As part of its growth and development, CMA CGM Holland is looking for a Legal Counsel ERO to join its Legal team.ABOUT THE ROLEThe Legal Counsel ERO Supports the Head of Legal Europe RO with contract review, corporate and general legal affairs in the Europe region, with a special focus on UK and Ireland.The key responsibilities of the Legal Counsel ERO are divided as such :
- Assist with the corporate housekeeping and other corporate affairs of group subsidiaries in the Europe region (advising subsidiaries on corporate matters, including restructurings, reviewing draft legal documents, obtaining management signatures, ensure the reliability of the Group’s Governance database updated, etc.), with a special focus on the UK and Irish subsidiaries;
- Contract review of general terms & conditions, NDA’s, drafting and updating (standard) intra-group agreements and agency agreements, in accordance with CMA CGM practices, policies and procedures, with a special focus on the review of contracts subject to English law
- Legal support to operational teams during negotiations of intermodal & logistics contracts, and stevedoring contracts,
- Advising on general legal matters, in particular on matters subject to English law
- Identify, analyse and assess (contractual and other) Legal and Compliance risks
- Respond to ad hoc requests by proposing appropriate solutions
- Protecting the Group’s interests
- Supporting the Group in disputes with UK and Irish entities
- Contribute to the selection and choice of external lawyers, follow disputes/ litigation and coordination with RO Head of Legal and HO
- Ensure the proper implementation of the Group’s ethics and compliance rules and the compliance of the company’s operations with the Code of Ethics and Group procedures such as gifts and hospitality, conflicts of interest, professional alerts, labor law, competition, protection of personal data, confidentiality.
- GDPR Officer for UK and Ireland
- Providing legal support to subsidiaries in coordination with HO stakeholders
- Support to HO/RO with risk assessments, questionnaires, overviews related to the Europe region

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s in Business law/Commercial Law
- England & Wales Qualified Lawyer with preferably 4-7 years Post Qualification Experience
- Previous experience with corporate legal matters and contracts
- Previous experience in shipping and/or intermodal transport industries
- Previous experience in GDPR
SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Ethics, integrity and respect for the confidentiality of information
- Fluent in English, French would be advantageous (Dutch not required)
- Strong interpersonal/communication skills, team player
- Flexible and able to perform under pressure
- Pro-active, confident making decisions and working tactically
- Excellent organisation & prioritization skills and good attention to detail
- Determined, persistent and persuasive
- Able to collate and analyse information, able to draw conclusions as to facts and liabilities
- Able to keep detailed and well-ordered records
- Competent IT user capable of working across multiple IT systems (Office + In house systems)
