The position
As a Legal and Compliance Graduate/Counsel, you will be in charge of providing legal advice, support, and counselling to the business on a broad spectrum of judicious and practical projects within a highly regulated environment.
Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:
-Provide solution-focused and pragmatic legal advice on a range of issues, ensure effective contract management including contract interpretation and compliance with laws and regulations. Offer practical, solution-oriented legal assistance to Novo Nordisk’s internal clients during contract preparation, negotiation, drafting and reviewing.
-Draft, negotiate, and manage a high volume and wide variety of contracts, mainly focused on clinical trials, including services, supply, speaker, and advisory board agreements. Additionally, review and approve promotional and advertising materials in accordance with pharmaceutical laws and regulations, including the AIFP Code of Conduct.
-Provide counsel on all compliance matters related to the Business Ethics Code of Conduct, including Third Party Risk Assessment, Gifts & Entertainment, HCP (Healthcare Professional) transfer of value reporting, and Contract Management. Assist in the development of legal templates, training materials, and relevant sections of the legal department’s intranet site to train and upskill internal clients.
-Maintain overview of data processing activities and risk assessments for local organization, provide day-to-day operational guidance to local org. on personal data protection compliance, support response to data breaches and data subject requests, cultivate compliance mind-set within local organization through appropriate training and communication.
-Engage and liaise with compliance and internal audit teams at all levels of the affiliate on updates and related business matters, regulatory compliance developments, policies, standards, procedures, initiatives, risks, KPIs, etc. Ensure business policies and standards are maintained, updated, visible, and accessible to all employees. Conduct periodic testing and monitoring of regulatory compliance controls (adherence to policies and regulations) and recommend effective improvements.
Qualifications
To be successful you need to have:
-A law degree or other legal background.
-With min 1-4 years of experience, preferably from a mix of law firm and in-house environments, experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical devices industries is an advantage.
-Excellent drafting, communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and judgment.
-Knowledge and interest in pharmaceutical and related laws and regulations, such as Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Clinical Trials, Competition Law, Data Privacy is an advantage.

The Legal, Ethics, Compliance, and Quality (LECQ) Department at Novo Nordisk Czech Republic is devoted to ensuring legal and regulatory compliance in our operations. We provide legal counsel and support in areas such as corporate law, compliance, clinical trials, and more. Our team works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that our activities, policies, and business practices comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
