JOB SUMMARYAs a manufacturer of stepless shifting bike/eBike product-based solutions, enviolo is a growing, scale-up business headquartered in Amsterdam, NL. Our products and services empower bike makers to build personal mobility vehicles that change their riders’ lifestyles, have a wide variety of uses, and solve problems in traditionally car-centered societies.enviolo’s multiple years of high growth have led to both financial and market success in our identity of a bike transmission company. By aligning our legal function with our business strategy, your role protects our current value and helps create new value.KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESULTS

• Corporate Legal Counsel
• You provide critical legal guidance and innovative solutions that drive the organization forward.
• As our only in-house lawyer, you are the natural first point-of-contact a function goes to for legal advice.
• You advise the Board, CEO and CFO and other company leaders on legal and regulatory matters and you are responsible for corporate governance (processes) working together with our board secretary.
• Own our current IP portfolio and work together with the product development leadership and our CIO (Chief Innovation Officer) to develop new IP, together with outside counsel where needed.

SCOPE and ATTRIBUTES

• Legal ownership

• enviolo’s internal legal function is a key to our strategic decisions. You align our legal function with our business strategy.
• We look to you to be a company strategist/leader as well as a functional leader.

• External legal resources management

• You manage the relationship between enviolo and all external legal resources. Most external legal situations and conversations would be facilitated by you.

• You are our “spider in the web” between internal needs and external legal advisors.

• Operational delivery

• Optimize legal efficiency and effectiveness to best serve the business.
• Oversee IP administration that protects our IP assets – i.e., “Lockbox of IP”
• Manage the administration of key enviolo agreements and contracts (specifically vendor-related agreements)
• Automate processes and administration where possible

• Integrity and transparency

o As the leader of our legal function, you will be one of the leaders in enviolo culture. Therefore, you need to embody and exemplify our culture and values. You have commercial and operational understanding while demonstrating high levels of passion, integrity, and transparency

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS and EDUCATION

• 5+ Years’ experience in a legal role in a corporate role or at a top tier law firm

• Preferably with some experience in Intellectual Property
• Preferably internationally, in multiple countries and continents

• The proven ability to rapidly establish trust through authentic communication.
• High performance operator with interpersonal skills that gives you the ability to motivate, influence, and lead people who do not work directly for you.
• Has worked in the Netherlands for a significant part or is educated in Dutch law

PRIMARY RELATIONSHIPS

• You will report to enviolo’s CFO
• You will work closely with our Product Development and Product Management (the latter led by our Chief Innovation Officer) teams on IP topics
• Internally at enviolo, all/most functional leaders at enviolo will interact with you. You will be their point-person for legal questions and advice.
• External to enviolo, your function will interact with

• External legal specialists, advisors and firms
• Partners on the agreements that govern those relationships (e.g., selective customers, development partners, and current and future contract manufacturers)

• You will work closely with our Product Development and Product Management team on IP topics
• Especially in the governance area, you will work closely with the enviolo Board and the board secretary
