However your own story might turn out, we are happy if you choose to share it with us!For our Business & Legal Affairs (BALA) team in Amsterdam, serving the Benelux market, we are currently recruiting aLegal CounselJust the right job for you:This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who enjoys operating within a dynamic international setting, working across media law, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and commercial deal making.As the legal landscape is continuously evolving, you’ll have a key role in ensuring that Paramount Benelux remains compliant, particularly in areas such as broadcasting and media regulations. In addition, as our Legal Counsel we expect that you:
- Provide high-quality legal counsel across multiple Paramount departments on topics such as intellectual property, content rights, contract law, media regulations, privacy.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to ad sales, content production/acquisition, distribution, digital marketing, and brand licensing for Paramount Benelux and International as needed. Ensure all agreements protect Paramount’s legal interests while promoting its business.
- Oversee administrative tasks related to regulatory requirements, reports and submissions to regulators and other institutions.
- Represent Paramount at key public affairs organizations.
- Maintain corporate governance for Paramount’s Dutch entities, ensuring all legal entities are compliant with local regulations.
- Collaborate with teams across Europe, ensuring legal guidance aligns with the broader Paramount vision.
That’s why we want you:
- Master of Laws (LLM), ideally specialized in intellectual property or media law.
- At least 3 years of experience in an in-house legal role e.g. at a production company, broadcaster, law firm, content distributor, studio or at a media-related law firm.
- Strong knowledge of Dutch law, in particular copyright law, intellectual property, privacy, and media regulations.
- Pragmatic, business-oriented approach to resolving legal issues.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
- You are a flexible team player with a hands-on mentality and like to take initiative
- You are an independent and proactive person who thrives in a fast-paced, international environment, enjoys a dynamic and changing business and work environment.
