We are committed to partnering business success by maximizing opportunities while minimizing legal risks.Position OverviewOur team is looking for a Legal Counsel that will focus on legal compliance. This pivotal role involves steering legislative adaptation impacting SD Worx. Ultimately, you will support SD Worx’s strategic objective to become the trusted leading European provider of integrated, end-to-end HR solutions.Key tasks

  • Legal Watch: proactively stay ahead of legal shifts affecting our operations across all regions.
  • Legislative Inventory: Develop and refine systems for tracking pertinent laws and regulations.
  • Strategic Advice: Generate insightful position papers on legal changes. You will translate complex regulations into actionable guidance for our business in a way that aligns with SD Worx’s strategic direction.
  • Policy & template development: Craft and update legal templates and policies to ensure company-wide regulatory adherence.
  • Risk management: Proactively mitigate legal risks to prevent financial and reputational damage.
  • Training: Provide (content for) training to the Legal & Compliance team and our internal stakeholders to inform them of relevant regulatory changes.
  • Stakeholder management:
  • Work closely with the rest of the Corporate Legal, Risk & Security, and Internal Control & Compliance team to continuously improve legal compliance in our company.
  • Managing and maintaining relationships with external counsel or other suppliers of legal services within budgetary confines
  • Articulate and defend SD Worx’s viewpoints to internal and external parties, like our customers and suppliers, as well as regulatory authorities where needed.
  • Occasionally drafting, reviewing, and negotiating supplier agreements with suppliers in your area of work.

QualificationsBelow you will find a standard list of requirements usually reserved for a legal role like this. We feel it is important for them to be included here so that you know what is expected of you. That being said, you will not find minimum required academic grading or a set number of years of experience.There is a reason for this. We are, of course, looking for a qualified lawyer experienced in a business environment who can do the job and demonstrate excellence in the legal field. But we are also looking for somebody keen to learn more about our business and people and be creative in solving problems within our industry.

  • Ethical Standards: Unwavering commitment to professional ethics and integrity.
  • Education: Master’s degree in Law from a European university.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English, with a strong command of at least one additional European language.
  • Industry Insight: Keen interest in HR services and a grasp of legal challenges in professional services.
  • Regulatory Acumen: In-depth knowledge of the political and regulatory landscape affecting SD Worx globally, on a European level, and locally in at least one SD Worx jurisdiction. Experience in competition law, AML, sanctions & export controls, or the EU framework governing digital services, cybersecurity, or data is a plus.
  • Communication Excellence: Strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Analytical Mind: Skilled in dissecting complex regulatory issues and providing pragmatic guidance, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and a nuanced understanding of intricate issues.
  • Critical Perspective: you have a thoughtfully inquisitive nature and can act as a critical friend.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Proven ability to cooperate with a team and diverse stakeholders.
  • Forward-thinking: Proactive in foreseeing and preparing for future industry and regulatory shifts.
  • Resilience: Ability to adapt and navigate change in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
