Role Purpose:

We are looking for an individual with a keen focus on collaboration, communication, and training to help us deliver and operationalise key programs for the legal team at Amex.

This global role will focus on the smooth and effective running of activities related to the legal team’s role in the American Express Compliance Risk Management framework in various jurisdictions, with particular emphasis on the regulatory change management and global legal inventory programs.

Principal accountabilities:

Supporting and facilitating the Regulatory Change Management (RCM) and Global Legal Inventory (GLI) programs and processes including:

  • providing training to colleagues;

  • setting up user access and profiles for the relevant platforms;

  • liaising with colleagues in Legal and Compliance Teams as well as external counsel on matters related to RCM and GLI;

  • coordinating and supporting RCM Monitoring meetings;

  • supporting colleagues and stakeholders with ad-hoc requests and queries, understanding the process, and navigating the relevant platforms;

  • reviewing the quality and completeness of RCM and GLI inputs and providing feedback and additional support to colleagues;

  • reviewing metrics and created performance reports and dashboards;

  • liaising with central Compliance in the day-to-day delivery of the RCM program, including administering the relevant platforms;

  • coordinating and making updates to RCM Monitoring Country Charters as part of annual refreshes and otherwise;

  • maintaining internal process and other documentation and materials related to the RCM program as needed;

  • producing communications for colleagues participating in the RCM and GLI processes;

  • assisting in the ongoing development and evolution of the relevant platforms and process, including working with Compliance and Technology partners; and

  • liaising with vendors involved in the provision of RCM related services.

Additional accountabilities:

  • Take on ad-hoc tasks for the benefit of the broader legal team

Required Skills:

  • Fluent in English

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, including the ability to create clear and impactful materials

  • Experience working with technology and software (desired), or IT literate with keen interest to learn

  • Some familiarity with and a strong interest in a commercial legal, risk or compliance environment

  • Experience in program management and support, as well as project delivery
