About the roleThe School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Environmental Law. The post-holder will be an outstanding candidate with research interests and teaching expertise in their field of Environmental and Climate Law (broadly defined to include sustainability-related law, including environment, climate, energy, resources). The successful candidate’s principal teaching contribution will be to our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in environmental law. The ability to contribute to the core undergraduate law curriculum is desirable. The successful candidate will also carry out administrative duties in the School.The post-holder will undertake world-leading research and have a deep personal commitment to the delivery of teaching of the highest quality, with a particular interest in environmental, climate or sustainability-related topics.The successful candidate will be welcome as an integral part of the faculty of The Dickson Poon School of Law and The Centre for Climate Law & Governance. The Centre is a leading light for interdisciplinary research on legal and governance approaches to climate change and sustainability within and across countries in the Global North and South.We embrace equality, diversity and inclusion. PhD, DPhil, JSD qualification or equivalent experience in Law.
2. For Lecturer, a publication record and research agenda in environmental, climate, energy or sustainability-related law topics. For Senior Lecturer, a substantial publication record and research agenda.
3. Demonstrable ability to teach environmental, climate, energy or sustainability-related law and a proven track record of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
4. Proven ability to collaborate on teaching, research and/or administration.
5. For Lecturer, experience in applying for research grant funding and a clear plan to pursue funding opportunities. For Senior Lecturer, a track record of successfully applying for research grant funding.
6. Willingness to contribute to the Centre for Climate Law & Governance, and to undertake administrative roles in the School.
