Job description

We are looking for a Plumbing and Heating Lecturer with the ability to deliver across the full range of the department’s provision. You may currently be working in a Mechanical Services setting looking for your first job in teaching. You will have a passion for innovation, bringing new ideas and embedding new technologies into the learning environment.TasksSupport learners through their programme and the specific qualification aims within.Write schemes of work and lesson and review plans.To devise and implement a learning and assessment plan for each individual learner.To devise and produce materials for use by learnersTo manage the formal assessment process to include maintenance of all assessment recordsBe flexible in the delivery of education and trainingEnsure completion of portfolios, coursework, own work and all other programme related student outputs within the scheduled schemeLiaise with all stakeholders (internal and external) to deliver programmeFor work-based delivery aspects of a programme carry out reviews in a timely fashion, which include:liaison with employersthe incorporation of functional skillsadditional learning support arrangementsthe overall assessment planTo manage learning programmes and act a Course Leader as required.To agree SMART targets with learners and where applicable, employersTo undertake tutorial and pastoral roles with learnersMaintain confidentiality rules in respect of the learner and their workplaceManage the learner disciplinary and rewards processLiaise with Student Support Services, College Information Systems, Employer Liaison Team, ALS and SEND Team as appropriate to the needs of learnersTo maintain a management tracking system for learners in accordance with College guidelines

To ensure quality assurance systems comply with internal and external standards specifically in relation to :External Verificationinternal verificationreview and evaluationself-assessmentProgramme validation:

• Work to agreed recruitment protocols to ensure only appropriate learners are enrolled on programmes and that a support plan is in place for each learner.
• Participate in marketing courses if required
• Implement the College’s Equality Policy at all times
• To apply the college’s own safeguarding policy and practices by reporting any accidents/incidents according to College procedures
• Carry out ongoing Health & Safety checks and update records as necessary
• Attend meetings on a regular basis
• Undertake other duties as required by the Section head
• Deputise for the Section Head as directed
• Undertake all tasks associated with the performance management Review (PMR) system and be accountable for the performance targets set in the PMR.
