The Institute of Creative and Critical Writing, based within the College, runs an outstanding enrichment programme comprising masterclasses, guest seminars, and public events.The College wishes to recruit a Lecturer in Twentieth-Century Literature for an 8-month, full-time, teaching post (maternity cover) from September 2024 to April 2025. The post-holder will be part of the teaching team in English and will deliver undergraduate and postgraduate modules.You will have expertise in Twentieth-Century literature, and experience of delivering, managing, and administering teaching in a University setting. The Undergraduate modules to be covered are likely ‘Key Critical Concepts’, ‘Writing and the Environment’, and either ‘Gender, Sexuality and Culture’ or ‘Multicultural Writing’. There is also the opportunity to teach on a Master’s level module: ‘Literature and Truth’. These are established modules and a handover will be provided.Your main responsibilities will include leading the delivery of teaching and assessment for undergraduate and postgraduate modules in English Literature, including academic administration, providing pastoral support to students, and recruitment and outreach activities.You will hold a PhD in a relevant area (or be nearing completion), or have equivalent core knowledge from practice.
