HU3226-24-199-RThe University of Brighton Social Work department is seeking a new lecturer to join the team. Your expertise and experience will contribute to the delivery of high-quality social work education in the School of Humanities and Social Science. We are looking for a highly motivated social worker or social work academic. We are particularly interested in those with children and families experience, but this should not preclude any interested party from applying. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team of social work academics, based at the Moulsecoomb campus in Brighton.You should be able to draw on foundational social work knowledge and experience as a basis for delivering the core social work curriculum, alongside your specialist area, across our undergraduate, postgraduate, and post-qualifying programmes. Applicants will be expected to engage with teaching, assessment, student support and development, both academically and placement-based, recruitment and knowledge exchange/research.To be effective in this role, you will need:

  • A recognised social work qualification
  • Registration as a social worker with Social Work England
  • Good presentation skills, which will be assessed at interview
  • Competent IT skills and effective use of IT for teaching and learning
