About usThe Department of European & International Studies is recruiting a fixed-term Lecturer in International Political Economy. The post is open in terms of theoretical and methodological approach within the field of International Political Economy. The post holder is expected to contribute to the delivery of the BAs in European Politics and European Studies and the MAs in International Political Economy and European Studies, and the BA in International Relations to which the department contributes. In particular, the post holder will be expected to deliver modules on global governance and international organisations, the political economy of development and public policy in Europe. The post holder will also contribute to supervision at UG and PGT levels, contribute to advancing the department’s research culture, and work well with others in the department and across the School and Faculty.You will be responsible to the Head of Department.   • Contribute to the planning, organisation and delivery of innovative teaching activities within the department, particularly the BA European Politics, BA European Studies, MA International Political Economy and MA European Studies, as well as the BA International Relations to which the department contributes.
  • Teach modules on global governance and international organisations, the political economy of development and public policy in Europe.
  • Contribute fully to developing and enhancing the research profile of the Department, School and College.
  • Supervise and train postgraduate students to ensure their effective development.
  • Act as personal tutor to students.
  • Participate fully in assessment and examination process as appropriate using a variety of methods and techniques and provide effective, timely and appropriate feedback to students to support their leaning.
  • Participate in and develop internal and external networks.
  • Conduct individual or collaborative research projects.
  • Contribute to departmental, School, Faculty and University administrative duties.

This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.About youTo be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:Essential criteria1. PhD and first degree in a relevant subject (PhD submitted or completed by time of application)2. Specialism in International Political Economy3. Ability to teach modules on global governance and international organisations, the political economy of development and public policy in Europe4. Clear potential for excellent academic publications record5. Ability to supervise student research at BA and MA levelsDesirable criteria1. University teaching experience2.
