Do you have what it takes to develop the next generation of food industry professionals and contribute to research and/or enterprise in food safety and quality management or food innovation?The Natural Resources Institute (NRI – ) of the University of Greenwich carries out specialised research, teaching, training and consultancy with a focus on food, agriculture, environment and sustainable livelihoods.NRI is currently expanding its team of staff delivering its taught programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in food safety and quality management, food innovation and more generally in food science and technology. NRI currently offers MSc Programmes in Applied Food Safety and Quality Management; Food Safety and Quality Management by e-Learning and Food Innovation. We plan to offer a new Food Science and Nutrition undergraduate programme shortly.NRI’s work is globally respected and has won many awards including a recent Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Further and Higher Education. The Institute is located at the University’s vibrant Medway Campus in Chatham Maritime, Kent.NRI is looking to appoint up to two Lecturers/Senior Lecturers in Food Safety/Food Innovation to contribute to these taught programmes. In addition, it is anticipated that the successful candidate will develop research and/or enterprise activities in related areas. NRI has recently invested in a new Food Innovation Laboratory to support its teaching and research activities in these areas.The successful candidates will have some experience of teaching in a higher education environment, some experience of working in or with the food industry and a track record in relevant research and/or enterprise activities.The university welcomes people from diverse and underrepresented communities who can help the university to achieve its mission.We do this through taking positive action such as encouraging applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic, disabled and LGBT+ people.
