We are now building on this strong culture and provision to become a leading provider of accessible higher education.We are now looking for a Lecturer in Business and Human Resources to join our Swansea campus on a Full time, Permanent basis, working 37 hours per week.THE ROLEThe post of Lecturer in Business and Human Resources will be located within the Institute of Management and Health. You will be under the line management of an Academic Director, but for operational day-to-day duties will work under the guidance of the relevant Programme Manager. This post is primarily concerned with learning and teaching on the CIPD accredited and approved programmes, at level 3, level 5 (undergraduate) and level 7 (postgraduate), including supervision of student research projects / dissertations. You will be expected to oversee the day-to-day programme management of the level 3 qualification.You will be expected to deliver academically challenging, vocational-related content, incorporating innovative teaching and assessment methods to develop students’ competence and capability in the area of people practice and management. You will offer both academic and pastoral feedback and support to students to the highest professional standards and with regard to the ongoing enhancement of the student experience.ABOUT YOUTo be considered as a Lecturer in Business and Human Resources, you will need:
- BA (Hons) Degree and/or a Postgraduate Diploma in HRM (or related field)
- Chartered Membership of the CIPD (or level 7 Associate Membership, with the intention to upgrade on the commencement of duties)
- Experience of delivery of post-compulsory education / training / development in a learning or organisational setting
- Professional work experience within the people management field (this experience should be general in nature and not solely in one area such as recruitment)
- Demonstrable ongoing commitment to professional development, scholarship and/ or research and project work
- Strong organisational and personal management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- IT proficiency and experience of using e-resources including a willingness to teach and communicate
It would also be desirable if you have:
- Formal Teaching qualification (PCET/PGCE/PGCert HE) MA or MSc in HRM or a business-related discipline
- Experience of supervising postgraduate and research students
- Experience in the design and development of module content and programme management
- Ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh (oral and written).
