About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join Leeds College as the Lead Teacher of Maths in our Outstanding 14+ Academies. We are seeking a committed, talented and organised individual to support our learners. The post holder will be responsible for leading and coordinating the maths curriculum in 14+ Academies.The 14+ Academies is a safe and inclusive environment that is accepting of everyone. • To provide strong leadership to the Maths curriculum area so teaching and learning consistently meets high standards.
• Lead on the development and implementation of strategies to develop all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment, especially in the subject of Maths.
• To ensure that all young people make at least good progress and that ambitious targets for learner performance are met and tracked and accountability for the learning, progress and achievement of Maths for 14+ Academies students
• Be inventive, determined and persistent when implementing student focussed interventions in order to help progress learners in meeting and/or exceeding targets.
• To continue to develop an innovative and progressive curriculum in Maths lessons which is positive, engaging and learner focussed – including cross-curricular links.
• To effectively performance manage all staff in the Maths department so that ambitious targets are met and performance is of a high standard.

About You

• Experience and knowledge of supporting young people both academically and developmentally, including those aged 14-16.
• Experience of positively managing academic learner progress in an education setting, including those aged 14-16.
• Ability to work positively and effectively as a member of a team and on own initiative.
• Ability to motivate, inspire and lead, constantly striving for development and high quality.
