Join our Energy Transition team and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future.Your new roleAs our new Lead Onshore Pipeline Engineer, you’ll join a dynamic and high performing team overseeing diverse global design projects, ranging from traditional gas infrastructure to green initiatives with a growing portfolio of Hydrogen and CO2 pipelines. Your role will not only contribute to the successful delivery of major projects, you will also support the growth and development of the team by providing guidance and mentoring to existing and new team members to enhance our technical capabilities and range of service offerings.Your key responsibilities

  • Providing specialist engineering expertise to multi-discipline pipeline projects from feasibility studies, FEED, detailed design through to construction, commissioning, and handover
  • Ensuring that projects adhere to relevant regulations, standards, and best practices for the relevant content (e.g. natural gas, hydrogen and carbon dioxide)
  • Acting as technical lead on medium to large projects as a key player in an international environment
  • Working closely with the assigned Project Manager ensuring that quality and deadlines are met

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Significant and measurable experience in the design and project delivery of onshore pipeline projects from concept to construction, working to stringent quality, budget and time factors.
  • Experience with Hydrogen and/or CO2 pipeline systems would be an advantage
  • Experience in applying pipeline design codes and standards, and other relevant material such as research papers and journal articles.
  • Excellent knowledge of pipeline design software and the capability of those
  • Experience in pipeline design disciplines relating to wall thickness, route selection, crossing design, material selection and soil and groundwater handling.
  • Deep insights into station design would be an advantage.
  • Experience to also include assessing environmental impact, having familiarity with site supervision and have insights into authority handling and permitting requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong oral and written skills in English. Knowledge in other languages an advantage
  • Willingness to engage with external experts to learn, challenge assumptions and form best practice for H2 and CO2 pipeline design
