We have an exciting roadmap ahead, and as the Lead Applied ML Engineer, with a focus on NLP, you will define new ML features, research appropriate algorithms and technologies, and rapidly get first prototypes in our customers’ hands.

Responsibilities

– Understand overall company strategy and identify areas where AI can help.
– Deeply understand the problem area to identify the right ML framing of product problems
– Research and identify the right algorithms and tools
– Identify areas where ML can create value for our customers
– Leading a team of machine learning engineers and data scientists, and providing guidance and mentorship to help them develop their skills and advance in their careers.
– Work with engineers to bring prototypes to production

Qualifications / Skills

– Masters degree or (ideally) PhD in a technical discipline, e.g. computer science, physics, maths)
– Expert in Python.
– Experience as the primary technical leader for a team
– Ability to optimise research code
– Knowledge of developments in experimental platforms and frameworks from across the field.
– Experience designing and training machine learning models to solve critical business problems.
– Experience with data science / ML libraries and frameworks (e.g., PyTorch) and relevant tools (eg WnB)
– Relevant scientific research experience.

Nice to have

– Relevant publications in high-impact journals or at top-tier venues such as NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR, ICCV etc.
– Kubernetes
– Knowledge of data pipelining (e.g. via Airflow) and prior experience with cloud-based ML model deployment
