Job Description Summary

The Engine Dynamics Lead Engineer will operate in the System Design Technologies subsection within the AvioAero Advanced Technology Organization. In this role you will have to support design, test and tools development activities, dealing with Engine System Dynamics, all along the New Technologies and New Product Introduction processes as well as post certification / field related tasks. This effort must be accomplished with guidance of reference technical experts and in strong collaboration with relevant program system leaders team, technical communities and Design Board, to guarantee the proper standards and procedures are applied and documented.

Essential Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Program Systems team and cross-functional teams and partners in the areas of Controls, Operability, Performance, Aero, Heat Transfer and hardware design engineers to accurately support NTI and NPI reviews workstream.

• Lead efforts to build, validate and update the engine system dynamics models according to internal practice/standard and test evidence

• Lead efforts to provide design loads input to the design teams according to the load cases defined in engine spec and expected unbalance levels.

• Provide support on engine verification and validation plan, through test coverage, data monitoring and post processing

• Lead efforts to build and validate the rotor dynamics model of engine test installation and support test enabling h/w design according to internal practice/standard and test evidence and offer diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities to support test team

• Collaborate on post certification effort and service activities to fulfill product needs and provide timely reaction to investigations throughout the business to solve critical issues.

• Effectively communicate, present technical data and provide recommendations to internal and external customers

• Share engineering information and promote open dialogue, protecting intellectual properties and in compliance with export control regulations

• Ensure proper documentation of all work

Required Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or college

• Proven experience in engineering position in aerospace industry in a similar role in Dynamics

• Demonstrated experience in engine dynamics modeling and test data post process and analysis

• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of dynamics

• Fluency in English and Italian(speaking and writing/reading)

• Work Visa, according to local regulations, is required.

Desired Characteristics

• Prior Turboprop/Turbofan/Turbojet engine experience

• Familiarity with simulation tools and high-level program languages (C++, MATLAB, etc.)

• Effective in contributing to a cross-functional teamwork environment

• In-depth understanding of engineering technology and tools
