As Lead Category Manager – IT, you will play a pivotal role in setting the strategic direction for IT categories that power one of the world’s leading life science companies.

Your New Role

Based on your ability to drive business partnering and stakeholder management, you will be a key player in our future value delivery journey. You will report to the Director of Digital Solutions in Corporate Procurement and be part of a highly motivated team of 8 experienced and dedicated IT category and IT sourcing professionals all working to drive IT category excellence globally. The position is based in Novo Nordisk HQ in Denmark.

Your key responsibilities will include:

-Lead the development and implementation of the IT category strategy towards global category excellence, fostering collaboration and an enterprise mindset based on well-defined category strategies aligned to business goals
-Build KPIs to measure supplier performance and conduct Supplier Relationship Management with key IT suppliers to utilize external innovation and identify opportunities for optimization of supplier performance, improved business processes and cost efficiencies
-Act as the preferred procurement business partner for key stakeholders across Novo Nordisk Global IT organisation at a senior level
-Support implementation and execution of the category strategy and actions in collaboration with sourcing managers and stakeholders

Your New Department

Corporate Procurement is Novo Nordisk’s centre of excellence for category strategies, supplier agreements, and purchasing processes.  The Corporate Procurement department builds strategies and executes improvement projects to optimize the global indirect spend of more than DKK 50 billion related to Facility Management, R&D activities, marketing services, travel, professional advisory services, and IT. Team size is app. 140 employees in Denmark and 2 indirect reporting teams of app. 150 employees in total in Global Business Services in India.

Your Skills & Qualifications

We are seeking a dynamic professional who:

-Holds a Master’s Degree within business/commercial or IT.

-Brings extensive experience within IT category management (minimum 5 years) – preferably as Category Lead in a global organization
-Has proven ability in developing impactful IT categories and procurement strategies with expertise in complex negotiations
-Thinks strategically and innovatively to develop strategies that significantly impact the whole organization
-Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trustful relationships with executive leaders
-Is a strong communicator who understands how to communicate effectively with senior stakeholders by using different communication techniques like storytelling and influencing
 

The successful candidate would be someone recognized as an ambitious individual, driven by a strong desire to make a meaningful impact. They have a keen eye for opportunities and are enthusiastic about sharing their ideas.
