Lancaster Environment Centre (LEC) is looking for undergraduate and postgraduate students who will be studying a LEC programme in 2024/5 to join our Student Content Creator team. Our content creators will share the stories they want to tell about studying in LEC whilst representing University values.We’re looking to work with the best content creators who keep themselves up to date with trends in digital storytelling.The content our creators produce will be posted on LEC’ social media channels and website. All the content that you make will be credited to you and can be linked to, or posted as collaborations with, your own channels if you choose.PLEASE NOTE: These Content Creator positions are only open for Geography, Environmental Science, Earth & Environmental Science, Ecology & Conservation, Zoology and Biology students.We are particularly keen to employ International Students to help with International Engagement.Pay Rate: £11.44 per hour plus £1.38 holiday payStart Date: 2nd December 2024End Date: 30th September 2025Job DescriptionMain Duties:

  • Work both independently and as a team to create innovative and engaging content and material that is suitable for a range of audiences and purposes in promoting Lancaster Environment Centre
  • Devise compelling multimedia content tailored for particular digital platforms – Instagram, TikTok, website, YouTube and blogs
  • Come forward with suggestions and ideas for content
  • Support the Digital Ambassador Leader in updating and maintaining social media channels through which to deliver key messages and campaigns
  • Additional optional work is also available to support international student recruitment and conversion, such as assisting with on-campus recruitment events (Open Days, campus tours, school visits, etc.), digital events.

Person SpecificationPerson SpecificationYou will have experience creating engaging digital content for YouTube, Instagram, and other social media platforms. You will have experience in all stages of content creation from concept development and planning through to content capturing and editing.Enthusiastic attitude about your studies and the department’s teaching and research.Excellent communication skills with confidence in talking in front of the cameraGood knowledge of Lancaster University, including the campus, facilities and student community.ApplicationIf you are interested in this position, please apply with your CV and Cover Letter.
